14 Casual Friday Outfits for the Office

It is super easy to make a few tweaks to your everyday office looks when putting together your casual Friday outfits! Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

  • Swap your trousers for stretchy jeans

  • Opt for flats or sneakers instead of pumps

  • Wear a knit/sweater blazer or loose cardigan

  • Pick a nice tee instead of a silk top

  • Leave your top untucked

  • Cover your go-to work top with a casual jacket (utility, suede, leather, etc.)

  • Finish your outfit with a hat

How do you dress for casual Friday in your workplace? Drop a comment below! Now, let’s dive into the outfit ideas…!

Cardigan + Striped Tee + Chambray Pants

If you can’t typically wear chambray (or denim), Friday is the perfect day to pull out a pair of wide-leg chambray pants and style them up for the office! Here, I’m wearing mine with a striped tee (pink is a fun twist and perfect for spring or summer), cozy cardigan (for aggressive office A/C), and platform sandals.

Floral Top + Jeans + Metallic Flats

Pair your favorite floral top with a pair of grey jeans (in whatever style you prefer—here, I’m wearing kick crop jeans) and finish it off with a fun pair of metallic flats and statement earrings for a smart casual Friday outfit! This is a perfect in-office look for a warm spring day.

Cashmere Sweater + Pumps + Work Tote

This casual Friday outfit idea is on the dressier side of casual. Pair your favorite everyday cashmere sweater with a pair of jeans and simple black pumps (jeans and pumps are unexpected!). Grab a go-to work tote (my Longchamp tote is one I reach for frequently when traveling for work) to complete your look!

Sweater Blazer + Jeans + Sneakers

I love a good third piece like this sweater blazer to keep aggressive office air conditioning at bay. It’s also the perfect third piece for a casual Friday outfit! Complete your sweater blazer office outfit with a comfy pair of jeans and sneakers—because your feet may need a break after a week of heels!

Bright Sweater + Raw-hem Jeans + Flats

Late winter is the perfect time of year to pull out a bright, colorful sweater for your casual Friday outfit. It’s gloomy, cold, possibly snowy or rainy, and by late winter you’re probably tired of it all! Pair the sweater with raw-hem jeans to really dress it down, and complete your look with velvet flats.

Linen Top + White Jeans + Wedge Sandals

This casual Friday outfit is exactly what I’d recommend for a hot summer day: a linen top (sans blazer or cardigan, because it’s way too hot outside to wear either) and white denim. I love pairing white jeans with neutral wedge sandals. They’re just dressy enough for work!

Sweater Blazer + Stripes + Ankle Boots

This is one of my favorite casual work outfits, and it’s actually one of my “fancier” work outfits. If your office requires a more formal dress code, wearing black denim counts as casual Friday! Combine your black jeans with a black and white striped tee, sweater blazer, and matching ankle boots and tote bag.

Blazer + Floral Blouse + Kick Crop Jeans

Grab your comfy kick crop jeans and dress them up for casual Friday with a patterned blouse, blazer, and simple sandals. I’d wear this outfit if I had an important meeting to attend in the office. It’d look great with a pair of trousers or ponte pants if you want to wear it during the week!

Utility Jacket + Blouse + Jeans

Ditch the blazer in your casual Friday outfit and opt for a utility jacket or other casual jacket (suede, leather, etc.) instead! It’s such a great layer over an airy blouse, and stretchy jeans make the outfit even better for a Friday spent in the office. Finish it off with a trusty pair of flats that keep your feet happy, too!

Silk Top + Raw-hem Jeans + Metallic Flats

Dress down one of your go-to silk tops for casual Friday in the summer with a pair of comfy raw-hem jeans. Inject some excitement with a pair of metallic (or other statement) flats and definitely don’t forget your trusty work tote! My Madewell transport tote comes with me to the office every time I go.

Lightweight Cardigan + Chambray Shirt + Jeans

If your casual Friday dress code allows for denim, why not go all in and double up on denim? I love pairing my light wash chambray shirt with medium or dark wash jeans. The contrast is so good! Top off your outfit with a lightweight cardigan that coordinates perfectly with a pair of neutral sandals.

Cardigan + Simple Tank + Midi Skirt

I don’t know about you, but anytime I wear a skirt or dress to the office I instantly feel more dressed up than usual! This outfit is definitely on the dressier side of casual but is definitely dressed down if you work in a formal office. Grab a cotton midi skirt and wear it with a cozy cardigan, basic tank, and platform sandals.

Cozy Sweater + Dark Denim + Ankle Boots

Sometimes it’s cold enough that you gotta pull out the puffer coat (that’s me all winter long). I love a longer coat with a faux fur trim for “nicer” occasions! Keep your outfit moody with a dark green sweater, dark denim, and ankle boots (that are waterproof just in case the weather turns during the workday).

Baseball Cap + Linen Top + Jeans

I love a good baseball cap and wear one to work regularly. Casual Friday is a great day to pull one out and make it a key component of your outfit! I wore mine here with a sleeveless linen top, jeans, and flatform sandals. It’d look just as cute with a short-sleeved linen top if sleeveless isn’t your thing (or not allowed).
