Earth Shoes Review: 1 to 2 Years Later (Fall/winter Edition)
I had a longstanding partnership with Earth since the spring of 2015 until spring of this year). My partnership involved styling pairs of shoes from their seasonal collections in outfits! I had so much fun with the collaborations and so appreciate the opportunity to work with Earth for so many years. Since I receive a couple of new pairs each season, my collection has grown quite a bit! This post is a more in-depth review of the shoes I received in fall 2018 and 2019. I also wrote an in-depth review of the shoes I received in fall 2016 and 2017 back in 2018; additionally, I also wrote reviews of the spring shoes I received in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and the spring shoes I received in 2018 and 2019.
So, here’s a real, honest look at how the shoes have held up over time and how I've worn each pair! Every shoe fits true to size unless otherwise noted. Earth Boomer • 2018 (2 years later)
Earth started getting more into athleisure in 2018, and in the fall I was asked to select a pair of sneakers to feature. I think around the same time, Allbirds were gaining in popularity, and I was intrigued by the idea of wool sneakers, so that’s why I selected the Earth Boomer wool sneakers in black.
According to my Stylebook app, I’ve worn these sneakers 38 times (blogged 3.5 times—three times in outfit posts plus once in a travel/non-outfit post). The original retail price was $100, so the cost per wear is down to $2.63.
These have become my go-to sneakers for walks, light hikes, and travel. Technically they were not made to be worn for actual activity (Earth informed me of that, lol), but they have held up surprisingly well. The soles are getting a little dusty now but nothing is coming apart as far as I can tell!
The only downside is the back of the sneakers rub on my heels if worn for too long, which eventually leads to blisters. I got a couple of large blisters after hiking around Grand Teton National Park with them and no-show socks the first day of our trip, which led to me picking longer socks for the rest of our trip!
Earth Keren • 2018 (2 years later)
Who can say no to cute OLIVE ankle boots? Not me! You know I’m a big fan of the color green, and especially greens in the olive and forest families. I was thrilled to welcome the Earth Keren boots to the family!
I’ve worn these boots 12 times and have blogged them nine of the 12 times. They were one of the items in my October 2019 style sudoku capsule wardrobe. With an original retail price of $150, the cost per wear of these boots is now down to $12.50.
One tricky thing about these boots is the low-cut sides. As with all of my ankle boots, I wear no-show socks with these, but sometimes they peek out from the sides if I don’t make the effort to push them down.
That aside, the Keren boot has been such a fun boot to wear! I’ve stayed relatively simple with the outfit combinations but I’ve loved every outfit I’ve worn with them.
I’m a huge fan of how they look with jeans; the top of the boots hit at a narrow point at the top of the ankle and it really transitions nicely to whatever I’m wearing with them (jeans or pants in this case!).
Earth Anchor • 2019 (1 year later)
When I saw the Earth Anchor boots in the fall/winter 2019 collection, I knew immediately that I wanted to add them to my wardrobe. They were available in I think four colors: chocolate brown, black, olive (?), and light tan, and I ended up selecting the light tan color but it was such a hard decision! After realizing just how versatile my tan Pineberry boots are from spring 2017, I wanted to go for it again with this lace-up pair that is better suited for cold temperatures. (They also feature side zippers for easy on/off!)
I’ve really loved wearing these boots with pants or jeans that are long enough to tuck in to the top of the boots, but I think they’d look really cute with a dress or skirt!
Since I received these boots a year ago, I’ve worn them six times (blogged five times). The original retail price was $170, and the cost per wear is now down to $28.33.
The Anchor boot in this particular colorway is made of a smooth suede that is prone to scuffs and stains. I’ve done a decently good job at avoiding both; I think Korri stepped on my toes once or twice and left marks, but I was able to wipe them off almost completely thank goodness! I do keep them out of any wet weather since I don’t have the suede protected.
Earth Glacier • 2019 (1 year later)
It honestly took me forever to pick a second pair from the 2019 collection, and I’m not really sure why! I like to blame the Libra in me, haha. I think it was because I wasn’t sure whether to go with a lighter shoe (can’t remember what else I was deciding between—maybe a flat?) or the Glacier boots.
I obviously went for the Glacier boots; I live in a place that experiences snow, so adding another pair of (cute!) snow boots seemed like a no brainer once I figured that out! Plus, these boots are waterproof…so, duh. I’m glad I chose them!
Even though I’ve only blogged these boots twice, I’ve worn them 12 times. With an original retail price of $175, the cost per wear is now down to $14.58.
I ended up going with my true size with these boots, and they would be too snug if I wanted to wear them with thick socks. Not ideal if I’m going to be outside for any significant length of them. Because of that, I’d opt for a different pair of boots if I’m going to be out for long. Luckily, I’m rarely spending much time outside, especially these days. They’re perfect for running quick errands in messy conditions, especially with the easy-entry side zippers and grippy soles!
BONUS: Earth Vital • 2018 (2 years later)
I also received the Earth Vital sneakers in 2018 in exchange for content I provided to Earth! These were technically my first pair of Earth sneakers since I received them before I got the Boomer sneakers, and I’ve worn them 12 times since I received them two years ago (blogged 2.5 times—once was in a travel/non-outfit post!). I also brought them with me on two of the trips I took last year.
As with the Boomer sneakers, these are so comfortable to wear and don’t rub my feet. I do wear them with beige no-show socks.
Unfortunately, the soles on both shoes are starting to separate from the rest of the shoe. So, they’re not as durable as my other pairs of shoes by Earth. I noticed the separation when I was in Dallas and haven’t worn them much since. Gotta fix them with Shoe Goo!
