October Style Sudoku: Outfits 1–5
Time flew and now it’s time to recap the first five outfits of my October style sudoku! As I did with my previous three style sudokus, I’m grouping the outfits into three posts starting with the first five outfits. Below, you’ll find all the details on what I wore on each day, the weather for that day, and my thoughts on each outfit and how well it worked for me.
OUTFIT 1 • Sunday, October 13th
Here’s day one! We didn’t do much on this Sunday…as usual, I spent a lot of time trying to finalize my sudoku. I tried on a bunch of different options and everything that I thought was going to be included didn’t work with the other things I wanted to include. Of course.
I picked this outfit for an evening at my dad’s house. He fed us smoked pulled pork and we caught part of an NFL game and then watched a show on the Discovery Channel about the folks that live in the Frank Church Wilderness in the central Idaho mountains called River of No Return. I’m all about laying low on the weekends, and it’s good I got out of the house because I haven’t been changing out of sweats if I don’t leave, haha.

OUTFIT 2 • Monday, October 14th
I had the day off of work today…and so did Korri! We spent the day shooting all of my sudoku outfits (took just over an hour—a new record, I think!), tidying up the house, going to the grocery store, and making a Canadian Thanksgiving dinner (with tri-tip instead of turkey…ha!). We also spent most of our night in a virtual line waiting to buy tickets to Taylor Swift’s Lover Fest West shows in LA next summer. By some miracle, we were able to secure tickets to both nights! I’m so excited.
This outfit gives me all of the fall vibes—a pumpkin orange-brown sweater, olive jeans, velvet boots, and a faux leather jacket to top it all off. I should have taken a photo without the jacket to get the full effect of the colors together!

OUTFIT 3 • Tuesday, October 15th
I was up late the night before, so the morning came quick and it was rough trying to get myself to work. At least it was already Tuesday! Plus, it helps so much knowing the outfits I can pick from. I can get ready so much faster when I know what I’m wearing already. Note to self: ALWAYS PICK OUT OUTFIT THE NIGHT BEFORE!
This outfit is a little bit of a mish-mash of colors: rusty brown, creamy white, washed black, and olive. I was really unsure about this outfit when I put together my sudoku, but honestly, I like how it all came together in these photos better than I thought I would! I felt a little bit self-conscious wearing this hat with these jeans because the jeans seem more grey in person and I’m not a huge fan of grey and brown together, but I was probably just overthinking it (as usual). I picked a hat outfit because I got a massage and my hair always gets oily from the lotion!

OUTFIT 4 • Wednesday, October 16th
Whew, today was a warm one! I wasn’t expecting a day this warm so I didn’t really have a good outfit for it, but it didn’t really matter because I was stuck inside working all day—lol. I picked one of the outfits with my faux leather jacket because I wanted to save my non-jacket outfits for the days that would require a warmer coat over top.
Out of all the outfits in my sudoku, this is one of my more casual outfits (well, all of my outfits are casual, but this one is extra casual with the combination of the sweatshirt and the distressed-hem skinny jeans). I originally thought I’d wear it on a weekend but it worked just as well for work!

OUTFIT 5 • Thursday, October 17th
When I made my style sudoku last weekend, I saw that there were a few days of rain in the forecast…but I didn’t want to wear my rain boots for the third sudoku, so I picked a couple of pairs of shoes that could handle a little bit of rain and kept my fingers crossed! Rain was in the forecast yesterday, so I opted to wear this outfit with my old Madewell oxford shoes. Luckily, it only rained when I was inside and it dried out pretty quickly, so I didn’t have to walk through puddles!
I haven’t worn these shoes very much recently, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to include them in my sudoku. I was nervous to wear them, mostly because I thought they would rub or feel uncomfortable, but I didn’t have any issues all day! They’re still one of my favorite pairs of shoes; I love their more masculine vibe and pairing them with feminine pieces.
