Comfy and Cozy in Downtown Boise

The North Face fleece pullover fall outfit in Boise, Idaho | Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Hello, hello! Can you believe today is the last day of November? Where did the month go?! Where did the YEAR go?! I think I say that every year, but every year I’m always surprised at how quickly time seems to fly. It definitely feels like it’s flying faster now that I’m older. In my 20s, it felt like I had so much time to do all the things I want to do. And now that I’m in my 30s, I feel like time is slipping away. I know that realistically, there is time to do most if not all of the things I want to do, but life feels more finite now than it used to. It’s like I am more aware of my own mortality.

ANYWAY. That turned dark quickly, lol! I just wanted to say hello 👋🏻 and share a recent comfy and cozy late fall outfit I wore to run errands downtown. This outfit features a couple of new wardrobe additions: The North Face fleece pullover and Madewell large transport camera bag. It’s always fun to integrate new items into my outfits with older pieces!

Comfy and Cozy Fall Outfit in Downtown Boise

You may have noticed that I rarely wear purple. I’m not usually drawn to purple, so I don’t own many things in that color. I’m typically more of a burgundy gal. (There was a purple striped dress from ModCloth I owned when I first started blogging. LOVED that thing!) When I spotted this fleece pullover at Nordstrom in SLC in three different colors, the color I was drawn to the most was purple! I liked the creamy white color, too, but I already have a fleece in that color so decided to branch out. The purple color is so rich and a fun departure from the neutrals I tend to wear in the fall and winter months.

Is purple a Christmas color?

Now that we are solidly in the holiday season, it’s time for all the holiday outfit inspiration! I put together this outfit not really thinking much of it (and the reason why this post was published so late was because I wasn’t sure what to write about, haha 😆—sorry for the whiplash that is the content of this post!). At first I didn’t think this outfit fit the “holiday” bill, but I think it works as a more casual option! I grew up Catholic, and purple has always been associated with advent, so therefore it is considered a traditional Christmas color (for Catholics, at least).

I truly think you can make any color a Christmas/holiday color. You just need a few festive decorations, a fuzzy fleece pullover, and perhaps a velvet dress for holiday parties in your color of choice and voilà!

How are you doing after the madness of BFCM? I forgot to browse Madewell again before their 50% off everything sale ended so I could spend a couple of coupons I earned (and didn’t realize expired this week). SIGH. Hate when that happens! I have a hard time keeping track of all the sales I plan to shop. (As I write this, I realized there was another sale I meant to take advantage of—thought it ended today 11/30—and I missed it. C’mon retailers, extend your sales another day! Haha.) Gotta brainstorm a better strategy for next year…maybe I’ll use my reminders app to keep track of them (that seems to be the only way I remember anything)!
