Currently: Road trip edition | windy day at Delicate Arch, Arches National Park, Utah | Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

In case you haven’t seen on Instagram stories, Korri and I have been on a lil road trip the past few days. One of my brothers is graduating from college this upcoming weekend, and I took it as an opportunity to hit up a few national parks and things along the way. It’s a trip I’ve been wanting to do for a few years now, so I’m excited to finally be doing it! It’s crazy our trip is halfway done now.

I joined Anne’s currently link up this month to share what I’m up to right now, road trip edition.

consuming: all of the road trip snacks. I’m not sure how many bags of Doritos we’ve gone through, but it’s a lot. LOL. We love the salsa verde flavor. I also buy Pringles for every road trip; fire roasted jalapeño and sour cream and onion are the two flavors I go for. We have a cooler with us to keep drinks and some food cold (sandwich meat and cheese), and we’re using a cooler bag for the dry goods (chips, snacks, etc.). Korri made banana bread muffins before we left as a snack, too (or even a quick breakfast to supplement the sometimes-lacking hotel offering).

exploring: the national parks of southeast Utah and southwest Colorado!!! We were in the Moab, Utah, area for two full days, and then in the Cortez, Colorado, area for a couple of days after that. In our first three days, we walked 54,000 steps. I haven’t walked/hiked this much in maybe my life? Haha! Currently in search of a new pair of feet. I’m exhausted!

getting: anxious about the drive home. As much as I enjoy road trips, being on the road gives me a lot of anxiety. I don’t mind the drive so much when we stop every once in a while to check things out, but the first day of our road trip was about an 8.5 hour drive, and the last day will be about the same. Our end destination will be home but thinking about being on the road for that long…ooof. I hate being in-between destinations. I wish I could snap my fingers and be home!

hoping: we can make it back to these beautiful destinations at some point in the future (there’s never enough time to see everything!) and also that we arrive safely to every destination for the rest of our trip! We are done visiting parks until after my brother’s graduation; we’ll hit a couple more on our way home. I’m also hoping the rest of my family makes it safely, too. They’re flying in today!

seeing: what outfits I can make with what remains of what I packed! Being gone for almost two weeks, and knowing I’d be spending half of those days hiking, I packed heavier than usual due to the sweat/dirt factor. (I typically wear items multiple times before washing, which usually helps when it comes to packing, but I didn’t this time; I don’t want to rewear any of my activewear because it gets gross!) I’m trying to wear everything I packed because I always get annoyed with myself if I don’t. Guess we will see. I will probably write a blog post about what I packed in the coming weeks!

(BONUS!)
donating: to a few local organizations I love and appreciate during Idaho Gives, which ends May 6th! Every year I pick a handful of organizations to donate to; I wish I could afford to give big donations to all of them. They’re all so worthy! This year, I was so thrilled to learn about and share the amazing work Jesse Tree is doing in the community to prevent homelessness and donate to help my neighbors stay in their homes.
