A Happy Sweater for Winter to Spring

Madewell petite skinny jeans transitional winter outfit — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

I love and totally subscribe to the idea of wearing a happy sweater as a mood booster during this in-between time between the end of winter and full-on spring. I don’t have much in the way of bright and happy sweaters, but I do have a pink chenille sweater and love to pull it out to welcome spring! It’s an oldie but goodie that always puts me in a good mood when I wear it. Maybe it’s time for me to add more happy sweaters? (Except I truly do not need even one more sweater whatsoever haha!)

Since my exact sweater is long gone, I rounded up some other bright pink happy sweaters in the widget below if you’re in the market. All of them are $35 or less, and if you hit that little heart outline button on one of the sweaters, you’ll be able to enter your email to receive an alert when it’s on sale!

The other items I like to pull out for a transitional winter-to-spring outfit include a pair of light wash denim, a pair of flats (so nice to let my ankles breathe again after a season of boots!), and a spring-y bag. My favorite time of year is that wonderful time when you are warm with just a sweater and no coat. We’re not quite to that point yet but I think it’s coming soon—fingers crossed! I love to pull out one of my lightweight puffers for the relatively warmer (but still winter) days.

This particular pair of jeans was actually the last pair of jeans I purchased before the pandemic really became real here in the U.S. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t my best purchase, haha. I had to size up a year ago because the legs were quite snug in my usual pre-pandemic Madewell size, and now I have to size up in all of my jeans due to pandemic-related weight gain. I was worried they wouldn’t fit when I put them on now, but luckily, these still fit around my waist without needing to be unbuttoned when I sit down. Whew! I wore them when I played dress up at home a year ago, took a nearly year-long break from them, and I can still wear them comfortably now. I call that a success!

Two more mood boosters: my velvet kitty flats (which appear to have been sadly discontinued) and bucket bag. I impulse-purchased this bag a few years ago and still adore it. Remember what I said about wearing what you love? Nailing it here. 😏

Do you own at least one happy sweater to boost your mood as spring approaches? I agree with Jess and highly recommend it if you don’t!
