My Favorite Christmas Movies

‘Tis the season for all of the holiday movies! I love that they’re replayed on TV over and over again between Thanksgiving and Christmas day. While I’ve seen many Christmas moves in my over 30 years, there are only a few that I really love and watch on repeat if given the chance. My favorites range from classic to modern with a heavy emphasis on modern. I know I left out a lot of the classics, and even though I’ve seen most of them, they’re didn’t have a big enough impact on me to want to watch them again. (I’m sorry pls don’t hate me lol. They just don’t keep my attention!)

Tell me—what are your favorite Christmas/holiday movies? Do we share any favorites?! Hope you are enjoying the season! One more day to go if you celebrate Christmas! xo

Favorite Modern & Classic Christmas Movies

ELF

Elf is far and away my favorite Christmas movie! I always put it on if I see it on TV. It’s just an instant classic, and I love the feel-good ending.

THE HOLIDAY

Similar to Elf, I’ll always put The Holiday on if I see it on TV! The story is sweet even though I think the actors/couples are pretty random, haha. It makes me want to spend a Christmas in the English countryside…maybe meeting Jude Law?! One can hope!

THE FAMILY STONE

The Family Stone is one of my mom’s favorite Christmas movies, so it has a special place in my heart, too. The story has sad moments so it’s not my favorite to put on if I see it on TV unless I’m in the mood to cry.

FOUR CHRISTMASES

Four Christmases is amusing and relatable because with divorced and remarried parents myself (and now with Korri’s side of the family), it feels like I spend every major holiday in the car driving between each family. At least I generally enjoy spending time with my family, though, ha!

LOVE ACTUALLY

I know that Love Actually has problematic moments and weird/too many storylines, but I still watch it for the sweet moments. I love the overall message; the end always makes me teary.

A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS

A Charlie Brown Christmas is a classic I’ll watch again and again, and I love the soundtrack! I have it on vinyl and it’s the best.

RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER

Just like Charlie Brown, Rudolph is a classic! It’s especially fun to watch Rudolph with my dad’s commentary about how rude Santa is to Rudolph (he really is rude).
