Our weekend started out with a CRAZY thunderstorm that woke us up just after 7 am on Saturday. I never wake up from thunderstorms, but there was one clap of thunder that was incredibly loud, and the rain…I’ve never heard or seen it rain that hard here. For a couple of minutes, the rain rate reached over 9 inches per hour! It was awesome!!!

We decided to add an extra stop to our morning farmers market run and swung by one of our favorite places for hot drinks in Hyde Park, located along 13th Street in the North End neighborhood. Hyde Park is a fun and popular place to hang out that features restaurants and local shops. The North End is one of the (if not the) most sought-after neighborhood to live in because it’s full of cute historic houses, large trees, and beautiful parks with easy access to the trails in the foothills. I previously photographed outfits along Harrison Boulevard in the fall (see also this outfit and this outfit), which is just stunning with all of the leaf color changes.

I’ve been wanting to shoot an outfit in Hyde Park and figured it wouldn’t be too bad with the rain (and wow did it rain; we set a new daily rainfall record on Saturday!). I thought the chilly rain would have scared most folks away, but there was still a good number out and about. Luckily, Korri got some awesome shots (even if the photo size setting was incorrect, haha…but I’m probably the only one that can tell). I love the illuminated tree we found! And thanks to it being so cool for mid-June, I got the chance to wear one of the sweaters I purchased last month.

Other than that, we watched 13th on Netflix, which should be required viewing for everyone, especially if you’re white. WATCH IT! Seriously. It is incredibly eye-opening, infuriating, and upsetting. After that, we did a 10-mile bike ride before it started raining again. We also started watching the Bobby Kennedy for President limited series (also on Netflix). My mom and step dad were in town for the weekend, so we had dinner with them and other family. I’m still being cautious with COVID (wearing a mask, staying as far from others as possible)…so getting together with people still makes me nervous.
