Yep, it’s still raining over here in the inland PNW. The coast isn’t getting all of the fun for once. ;) We actually got a thunderstorm this week! It was a very exciting day at work, haha. I can’t remember the last time we got a thunderstorm in January. There was no lightning on the day we shot these photos; it was just a rainstorm that lasted all day long…and we hit a new daily rainfall record because of it!

I have a couple of pairs of Hunter rain boots (one short pair in navy and one tall pair in yellow, but the latter pair is cracked and I’ve yet to repair them so they haven’t been worn in a while) and a pair of navy L.L.Bean boots that I alternate between on really rainy days, but lately I’ve been wishing I had a regular, solid black pair. Blacks and greys are staples in my closet, especially in the winter. I like to dress moody to match the weather.

I wasn’t looked to add another pair of Hunters, so when I found these all-black Sperry boots on sale at Nordstrom I ordered them to try. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the chevron stitching detail on the top of the boot, but it turns out that I don’t mind it at all! It’s not super noticeable. I love that everything is solid black. Plus, they feature zippers on the inside so I don’t need to worry about getting the laces just right. I found that my usual size fits great. The shape is pretty streamlined, so they don’t make my feet feel or look huge, and that’s always appreciated. Fingers crossed they hold up. :)

I’ve been getting a lot of wear out of my variety of boots thanks to all of this rain! It looks like it will be drying out a bit until the next storm arrives this weekend. I’m trying to appreciate it now because I know eventually we’ll go weeks without any sort of weather!
