Holidays at Home
How has your December been so far? Unsurprisingly, I’ve spent December bundled up in all of my cozy things. Winter has arrived for good! Right now, I’m cycling between my wide array of sweatshirts, sweaters, leggings, and sweatpants. I don’t always feel like I look super cute or put together, mostly because I just grab whatever looks comfy at the moment. I’ve had my eyes on another proper matching set (I already had one by Everlane), and the cropped fleece sweatshirt and matching sweatpant from Naadam were at the top of my list! When they went on deep sale for Cyber Monday, I snatched ‘em up.
Naadam is best known for their cashmere (they call themselves the “world’s fairest cashmere”), but their fleece was a more budget-friendly option for my first purchase from the brand. (ICYMI: I included a cashmere set by Naadam in my roundup of matching loungewear sets!) Even though most of their cashmere garments are on the spendy side, they do offer a $75 cashmere sweater that looks quite comparable to Everlane’s $100 cashmere crew and seems worth trying!
Since everything was on sale up to 75% off for Cyber Monday, I also purchased the signature ribbed cashmere beanie in merlot and two cashmere dog sweaters in merlot (size small) for the cats. Since dogs are built a little differently than cats (with bigger chest cavities), the sweaters don’t fit cats very well. I matched up to the size chart as best as I could, but I think the XS may have fit them better overall. Everything I purchased was final sale, so I want to try and alter the necklines so that my cats can’t slip out of them! (They were not too pleased when I made them try the sweaters on!)
I shared quick reviews with fit details of the sweatshirt and sweatpant in the previous post, so I definitely recommend reading that for more details, but in general I’m super pleased with the comfort level and a little annoyed about the sizing. I’d also love it if it the sweatshirt were just an inch or so longer—and I’m short! Right now I really have to hike up the pants and tie them tightly to keep them from exposing my midriff (which isn’t really an issue for WFH, to be honest). They are so soft, though, and you know I love anything and everything soft, especially in the winter. The beanie is soft, too!
I immediately added this matching set to my WFH outfit rotation! Now I want even more, haha. I’m thrilled they’re in style right now because they make me happy in spite of *gestures at everything*.
On a non-outfit note, I’m trying to embrace this season…staying home nearly 100% of the time (as we all are, or should be, at least), taking outfit photos in the living room with all of the overhead lights on and no natural light because the sun has already set. It’s tough for me because I’m so used to shooting during the day, outside, with natural light…but this outfit and this setup is more real right now! At least it’s an excuse to keep my house clean (at least, the one corner that I shoot in, LOL—save for the comically long ethernet cord that connects my work computer to the internet). We also finally figured out how to use a phone as a camera remote—three years after purchasing this camera. So, I suppose I could try shooting my own photos now! Key word being try, of course.
