I'm wrapping up another summer season with this look that mixes summer and fall elements. The white linen shirt and sandals definitely read more summer while the sweater blazer and darker jeans lean more fall. This is another version of what ended up being my go-to work uniform this summer. I found a new favorite combination with this sweater blazer and these sandals...hope you don't mind that I wore them in the same outfit twice, haha!
While I loved this outfit in theory, it ended up being a bit fussier than I anticipated. Because the sleeves on the sweater blazer are bracelet-length, I cuff them once so they don't fall at an awkward length on me. I loved the idea of the shirt sleeves peeking out under the blazer sleeves, but I could not get the cuff on my right arm to look/sit correctly. Figures, right? ;) I spent more time than I care to admit adjusting the cuff during the day!
Can you believe it's mid September? I'm torn. I'm sad to see summer go but happy to have the relief of cooler fall temperatures. It's now socially acceptable and weather-appropriate to wear a sweater every day (I wore lots of cardigans over the summer to stay cool in my office and it always felt ridiculous on the extremely hot days!). I'm excited to pull out my sweaters again and wear them without needing a coat; honestly, my absolute favorite outfits are those that are cozy but that don't require the bulky layer over top to stay warm! After my struggle with outfits this past summer, I'm looking forward to putting together some fall outfits. :)
