We are right in the middle of the dog days of summer over here. I haven't checked the weather forecast in weeks and it's because it's the same every day: hot and dry with not a cloud in the sky. (I didn't mean for that to rhyme, ha!) I get excited every time there's even a slight chance of thunderstorms in the forecast. I kind of miss being in Utah in the summer because at least Utah got the monsoon! We are too far north for monsoonal moisture to creep up here and give us some weather.
I wore my grey sweater blazer and Earth 'Tierra's sandals together in an outfit a couple of weeks ago and loved it so much that I wore them again for this outfit! I talked in this post about my summer work "uniform", and the outfit here is what I consider the epitome of that uniform. The sweater blazer is perfect for my freezing cold office (and definitely not so great to wear in 100°F temperatures—I was melting during this shoot!). It's so good that I have plans to add another to my wardrobe when the next big J.Crew sale rolls around.
I tend to dislike dressing in the summer since it's so hot that I want to wear as few articles of clothing as possible (spring and fall are definitely more fun to dress for). That said, working in a pretty-casual-business-casual office environment has provided me the opportunity to layer in the summer and wear more "interesting" outfits, even if the only people that will see them are my boss and some of my co-workers. It's fun for me and gives me an excuse to shoot "fall content" in the summer (ha—JK on that last one; anyone else worn out from the barrage of #nsale content?). ;)
