The blue-on-blue Canadian tuxedo has long been a favorite of mine, but when I'm not feeling like going all out, I pair a chambray shirt with white denim. It's technically still denim-on-denim, but it's not as in your face as a true Canadian tuxedo. ;) Speaking of double denim looks, have you seen Tieka's recent take? I love her unique top and how the denim washes go with one another; she's killing it!
I've realized now that I've had my job for a full year (!) that when it comes to dressing for work in the summer, I have a standard, simple uniform: sleeveless or short-sleeved top, jeans/pants, sandals, and some kind of layer because my office is freezing. With this outfit, I wore my black blazer that I previously featured in this post. I usually forego any type of accessory, even simple stud earrings. This outfit is a perfect example of my summer work uniform.
That said, it's starting to feel like my outfits are getting a bit stale. I'm definitely still in need of some more sleeveless tops or other fun tops for layering. I have quite a few sleeveless tops, but a lot of them feel more fall/winter than spring/summer, so I need to focus on adding some that are more season-less. As far as pants go, I've been wearing the same pairs of jeans over and over again. I'm realizing that adding a variety of different styles and washes may be where I need to head so I can play with my wardrobe a bit more! I did buy a couple of new pairs of jeans in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that I'm pretty excited about (fingers crossed one of those pairs ships...and fits, haha).
