In the spring, I feel like I have a few different personalities when it comes to what I like to wear. Some days, I'm feeling super girly and want to wear ruffles, bows, pastel colors, Peter Pan collars, and/or swingy skirts. Other days, I'm feeling "edgy" and want to wear my leather or suede jacket, black on black, my patent leather boots, and/or a spiked choker necklace (JK on that last one, but does anyone else remember those? ha!).
All that to say, on most days, I'm feeling fairly noncommittal to any sort of style or persona in particular, and that's when outfits like this one happen (more examples: here and here). It usually happens when I'm in a rush to get ready (which is pretty much every morning if I'm being honest). I can't pinpoint the exact style category this outfit falls into. What I do know is that it was comfortable yet put-together enough for work, and it was kind of fun and unexpected to wear white jeans with a black blazer and flats instead of blue jeans. I don't normally like wearing my white jeans with black or other dark colors because it looks harsh (though I do love navy and white together—always and forever!).
The top I'm wearing is a new addition from Amour Vert! I love the buttons down the front and the fun sleeve detailing (which you can't see here because I forgot to take off my blazer). It's the same soft fabric and color as the dress I got from them (worn here). The late evening light coming through the trees casted some strange colors on the top, but I promise it's a subtle heathered grey without any weird yellow splotches in real life. ;)
