99% of the time, my outfits are pretty simple and easy...basic, if you will. My goal is to dress for my real life, not for the blog. That said, the fact that I have a blog inspires me to try new garments and outfit combinations that otherwise I would shy away from. Honestly, first of all, who thought I would ever be wearing WIDE-LEG PANTS? Not me! I'll admit that I wasn't a huge fan of skinny jeans when they first hit the scene. In high school, one of my classmates told me that I would look good in skinny jeans, and I totally shrugged off her comment. I didn't jump on that bandwagon until sometime in college. Now skinny jeans are pretty much all I wear! I did not like the wide-leg pant trend when it first started hitting stores/blogs, and now look at me...wearing a pair. I'm always a couple of years behind, haha. They're still not my favorite silhouette on me because I'm short, but I can't deny their comfort!

This outfit is part of the 1% of my outfits that are a little more experimental...or "extra", ha! I wanted to wear my espadrilles with these pants, not really knowing if they would go that well together; I wanted the ties from the shoes to show, and luckily they did! The top was a last-minute decision I made so I could get out the door to work, and it wasn't until I got to work that I realized I was wearing bows on every item in my outfit. Ha! Normally I'd opt for only one bow, but sometimes you just gotta go a little overboard and wear all the bows. ;) I'm not a huge fan of the top with these pants only because it billows, and coupled with the wide pants, I just felt like I looked a bit frumpy. I typically like a slimmer top with looser bottoms (and vice versa). But, like I said, this outfit was an experiment—and it was a fun one at that!
