Red // olive

Red striped tee, olive green pants, neutral ballet flats -- Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

I've been inspired to wear a lot more color thanks to this warmer weather we've been having recently (well...up until yesterday, but it should be back soon!). I've hesitated a bit when it comes to pairing red and green together because it can turn Christmassy very quickly. However, I find a red and olive green combination to be exciting without screaming that it's the holiday season. I especially like how my tee is striped because a look featuring both a solid red and solid olive green would be a bit too bold for my taste. I grounded the look with neutral accessories...again, I'm not one to be that bold!

I do think this outfit worked better in theory than in reality. The tee bunches around my hips more than I wish it did (I need to learn to avoid tees that are too long, but I really like this tee otherwise), and the pants aren't my favorite fit. The whole outfit just ended up looking a bit...sloppy? I think it would definitely work better if the tee was more drape-y. Ah well. I'm glad I'm able to pick out aspects of an outfit I like and dislike and keep those dislikes in mind when I make future purchases.
