10 Current Favorite MightyNest Products + MightyFix Review, 3 Years Later

Every month since June 2018, I received sustainable, eco-friendly alternatives to common home and wellness products via my annual MightyFix subscription by MightyNest. Over the first year of my subscription, I wrote quarterly review posts: the first review was shared September 2018, second review in December 2018, third review in March 2019, and fourth review in June 2019.

After my second year of MightyFix, I shared my top five MightyFixes in a post I shared a year ago. Now, another year has gone by so I’m sharing a review of MightyFix after three years plus my current favorite MightyNest products (including products that I purchased separately from my fix)!

ABOUT THE MIGHTYFIX SUBSCRIPTION BY MIGHTYNEST

MightyFix is $11 per month if paid on a per-month basis, which comes out to $132/year. Of course, every product you receive is worth at least that much. I just renewed my annual subscription for the third time, and it was discounted to $99 if prepaid in full. At $99, that makes each month only $8.25. There is also an option to upgrade to Fix+, where you pay a little more but receive a more expensive Fix in return. It costs up to $20 per item, but you only pay the difference from $11. I have not yet selected the Fix+ option.

A perk of the subscription is that you can purchase other MightyNest products, and they ship free with your Fix! I’ve done that a few times, and this post highlights a few of those ad-on products. Plus, most products are available at a reduced “member” price.

Feel free to ask me any questions about my experience with MightyNest and any of my fixes! I still use and love most of those products.

I can invite three people per month to receive a free month of the MightyFix monthly subscription, so let me know via email if you’d like an invite (cottoncashmerecathair (at) gmail (dot) com)!

10 Current Favorite Products from MightyNest

1. Wool Dryer Balls

I received the set of 3 wool dryer balls in my second month of the MightyFix in July 2018! Made from New Zealand wool, these dryer balls are used in lieu of dryer sheets to fluff up garments, soften clothes, and decrease drying time. They also help reduce wrinkles and static (but only if you don’t over-dry the items—if they’re dried for too long, static will build up).

As you can see, these dryer balls have been well loved! I’m about due for new ones. The photo above was taken before I used them at all, and now they’re looking a little worn and pilled. I’m also missing one ball somehow, lol. Someone’s sleeve or pant leg ate it and I still haven’t found it!

2. Reusable Produce Bags

These lightweight, machine-washable bags by Flip & Tumble are perfect to carry produce instead of the plastic bags at the grocery store. They’re able to hold a large quantity of produce due to their large size (12” x 14”). The mesh makes it easy to see what’s inside, and a drawstring tie keeps everything contained. This was my February 2019 MightyFix!

While it took me a while to use these bags regularly, I ended up sticking them in a large tote bag for the farmers market! They worked perfectly for that purpose. Unfortunately, I really only used them regularly for one year before the pandemic hit. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to use them again at the farmers market this summer!

3. 16 oz Silicone To-Go Coffee Mug

When I first got this GoSili silicone mug in February 2020, I wasn’t super excited about it but thought it would be something Korri would use as he makes his own coffee and takes it to work. He wasn’t interested in it either, though, and I didn’t use it until I started working from home (ha, funny how that happens)! I started making latte drinks (more on that below) and this was my vessel of choice.

What’s amazing about this mug is that it’s silicone, so it gets hot but you can still hold it (for the most part). It’s microwave-safe even though there’s an embedded stainless steel ring to help it keeps its shape. It’s also dishwasher safe, but like other silicone products, this takes the taste of dishwasher soap, so I avoid washing it in the dishwasher unless it really needs it. I love this mug so much that I just ordered another color that will ride along with my next Fix because it was 30% off!

4. Mosquito Repellent Wipes

I browsed MightyNest ahead of Korri’s and my trip to the Cook Islands almost two years ago now (aw) and came across this pack of 10 mosquito repellent wipes. I ordered them for our trip because we needed to have some sort of mosquito repellent and I didn’t want to pack a liquid spray because liquid space is precious! (We both packed carry-ons only.)

These wipes ended up coming in clutch, and while I don’t think we got out of there unscathed, the number of bites was significantly lower than it could have been. I also had wipes with DEET just in case and didn’t need them. (I know DEET can be harmful and wanted to avoid it if at all possible!) I actually reordered these wipes for our most recent road trip though we didn’t need them as much. They’re nice to have around whenever we walk down to the river, though!

5. Cacao Turmeric Superfood Latte Blend

I can’t remember how I found this product by Golde, a Black-owned brand, but the first time I ordered it was from MightyNest and it came along with one of my Fixes! This blend sounded the yummiest of the three (the others being original turmeric and matcha turmeric)—I’m not a fan of matcha and I wanted something more than regular turmeric since I wasn’t sure if I’d like the flavor. Plus, the blend was made for stress balance, which is something I always need.

I do think the taste takes some getting used to. It’s not terrible at all, but it is strong. I ended up loving it mixed with chai and almond milk! It only blends well in hot drinks, so I’d heat up the chai and milk and then mix in the latte blend. I drank this pretty much every day until the bag was gone (each bag last about 30 days) and then reordered it! I’ve been down to the end of this bag for a while now so I guess it’s time to order it again. Honestly, I’m dragging my feet because I can’t tell if it does anything for me/my body ha.

6. All Good Hydrating Body Lotion

This product was my November 2019 MightyFix! If you’re looking for your next body lotion, look no further. I’m obsessed with this lotion! Not only is the coconut scent lovely (it smells like sunscreen but in a good way; it brings me back to our Cook Islands vacation every time I smell it), it’s incredibly nourishing without being greasy. I love it!

When I was working from home, I kept it next to me on the kitchen table (my desk) for whenever my hands felt dry...which was pretty often here in the dry Idaho climate. I will likely repurchase this when the time comes, and it would make an excellent gift. Plus, I saved over $3 with the MightyFix subscription, making this one of the better value fixes.

Regular price: $15.99 / Member price: $13.59 / I paid: $9.50 via MightyFix

7. Collapsible Silicone Food Storage Container

I received this Collapse-It product as my MightyFix in July 2019. Prior to the pandemic, I used it often for work lunches; I love that it’s collapsible to about half its size for when I’m done eating, and it’s also microwave safe. It’s also oven safe up to 500°F, which seems absolutely crazy??? Not sure I’ll ever stick it in the oven, haha!

Now that I’m back working in the office, I’m back to using this lil container again. It’s the perfect size for Costco muffins, if that’s something you’re into. (I am!!!) Silicone isn’t my favorite; as mentioned previously, it takes the taste of dishwasher detergent. Am I using the wrong detergent…? I received the 4 cup version with the red trim, and they come in three other sizes: 1 cup (green), 2 cup (turquoise), and 6 cup (grey).

Regular price: $12.99 / Member price: $11.69 / I paid: $9.50 via MightyFix

8. Silicone Spoon and Spatula

Even though I’ve made it clear that I’m not a huge fan of cleaning silicone, clearly it doesn’t bother me that much because this is the third silicone product to make it on my list! I received the silicone spoon and spatula by RSVP as my December 2020 MightyFix and they immediately went into the rotation. We use spoons and spatulas like these constantly when cooking and baking!

They’re heat resistant to 425°F and also dishwasher safe, but they take on water stains just like other silicone products in my experience. (Look closely in my photos and you’ll see the spots.) That’s not a dealbreaker for me because I’m used to it!

Regular price: $6.99 each / Member price: $6.29 each / I paid: $8.25 via MightyFix

9. Bottle Bright Natural Cleaning Tablets

When this arrived as my Fix in September 2020, I wasn’t super excited about it. BUT, I ended up trying one of these tablets in a difficult-to-clean stainless steel water bottle and it worked! I’ve also used them to clean out our rain gauge, which often has a layer of dirt on the bottom from when it rains mud. (Lol.) They’re GREAT!

The tablets are effervescent, dissolve in water, and require no scrubbing or rubbing. That’s my kind of easy clean. I love that they’re environmentally safe and biodegradable, plus they don’t leave a film or aftertaste. And they’re made in the USA!

Regular price: $7.99 / Member price: $7.59 / I paid: $8.25 via MightyFix (+ I also got a cleaning brush)

10. Cotton Flannel Facial Rounds

I added these to a MightyFix order because I had been wanting to try reusable cotton pads and move away from disposable cotton pads. The rounds by Marley’s Monsters are made out of two layers of 100% cotton flannel and are very durable. I use them primarily to apply toner after washing my face at night, though they would also work well for removing makeup.

I ordered these rounds in white and they haven’t stained! (Then again, I haven’t used them to remove makeup.) They’re also available in multi colors, and the pads aren’t pre-washed so they do shrink a little bit after being washed. Each set comes with 20 pads, and I grabbed the pile of pads I had not used yet for these photos which is why they still look brand new!

MightyFix Review, 3 Years Later

As I mentioned at the start of this post, I’ve been receiving the MightyFix since June 2018. I wrote down every single fix I received since then to get a better look at the fixes I’ve used and the best years of my subscription.

From my first year of the MightyFix, I’ve used 8 of the 12 items I received. My second year of the MightyFix was fabulous: I tried 11 of the 12 items! The only item I didn’t use was a laundry detergent kit because we already have so much detergent to go through. In contrast, this past year, I only used two of the 12 items I received (and I talked about those two items above). I remember feeling kinda meh about most of my items; I got a few products that I don’t anticipate ever using, so I may end up passing them along to someone else…

In case you’re wondering if I renewed again after my most recent “meh” year: YES! I did! It’s a fun thing I look forward to every month (it’s the only monthly product subscription I pay for), and I love that I can add items on as needed and they ride along with my fix for free. Fingers crossed I get more useful items this next year!

The MightyFix subscription also makes an excellent gift. They offer a 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month gift option (12 months is only $99)!
