What I Love (and Don't Love) About Idaho

For the most part, I love my home state. I grew up in Idaho, stayed here for college, and came back to live and work here after I finished grad school. This outfit with my Idaho “The Home T” inspired me to put together a brief list of what I love and what I don’t love about Idaho. (I also just realized how many cool products The Home T carry now! It’s a great site if you’re ever in need of gifts.)

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT IDAHO

  • The outdoors — I’m not super outdoorsy, but Idaho is a beautiful state with cool geology!

  • The food — besides potatoes (my favorite food, of course), the restaurant scene is fun

  • The weather — relatively mild, little to no threat of tornadoes/hurricanes/blizzards, not humid

WHAT I DON’T LOVE ABOUT IDAHO

  • The politics — sigh

  • The white supremacists / racism in general / homophobia / anti-science folks

  • The weather — ha, only because it’s boring! I’d love more thunderstorms.

I tucked my Idaho tee into a pair of high-rise denim shorts because it’s not a great length on me to wear untucked, and then I played up the retro vibe of the shorts by adding the platform sandals. The cute little classic stud earrings are a new addition to my wardrobe from Maison Miru, and they’re available for a limited time for the cost of shipping only ($6.99) when they regularly retail for $29! I’m impressed by the quality of these studs so far and hope they hold up with wear. I have my eyes on the pave lightning bolt studs next, naturally.

Side note: Yes, I know I’m wearing sunglasses in the rain. It had just started raining right when we started shooting (a storm literally formed right over us!). My eyes are super sensitive to light, even when it’s cloudy, so I’m almost always wearing sunglasses IRL. I’m sure you figured that out by now since I wear sunglasses in the majority of my outfits!
