Party in the back
As much as I live in and love my basic tops, I have to mix it up every once in a while with something fun! At first glance, it looks like your typical nautical top with the navy and white stripes—a basic top I'd wear to work any day—and then surprise! There's a ruffle party going on in the back. ;) The contrasting stripes gives me major heart eyes. I kept these navy stripes in their natural nautical habitat by wearing them with white jeans and gold sandals.
I couldn't find any other tops that were quite like this one, so I founded up a few other navy striped tops in the widget below (all under $70) that have interesting details to make navy stripes look not-so-basic. I'm never not looking for tops like this one, to be honest. I do find myself not wearing statement tops as much as the tops that are simpler, as you would expect, so I have to kind of ignore my goal of getting the cost per wear super low and just enjoy them.
As an aside, let's talk about my braid. I have discovered that my best side braids happen when I'm sitting at my desk at work and not when I'm at home, staring at myself in the mirror trying to make it look perfect. Isn't it funny how that works out? I thought it was also funny that I managed to somehow contain all of my highlights into tiny sections so it looks striped!
