Long cardigan, short dress
Did you spot something new...? I have a new family member to talk about! :) I am ecstatic to welcome these beautiful Frye 'Melissa Button' boots to my wardrobe after years of wishing for them. I technically broke my January shopping freeze for them (and spent the rest of my quarterly budget in the process), but I wanted them for an upcoming event and wasn't sure if I ordered the right size. I tried on my usual size in store and they were a bit roomy, so I ended up ordering a size down. It turned out to be the right choice! I got them in the regular calf width, which fits my calves perfectly.
I could probably wear them in every other outfit for the rest of winter, but I'll try to not overdo it. ;) They're just so pretty, and since they're black, they go with my wardrobe perfectly. I can wear them with dark jeans, black pants, black tights...you name it! The outfit possibilities are endless. I'm so excited. I'm planning to get the soles reinforced with something with a bit more traction so they don't wear out quickly (a negative I read in a few reviews).
In other news, you know your dress is short when your cardigan is just about the same length. Ha! I've only worn this dress when it's cold so I can wear tights underneath. It's just a little bit too short to wear alone in the warmer months. I think I'm going to try layering a longer skirt over it this spring...I just have to figure out which skirt would go best!
