10 Best Burgers in Boise, Idaho
Boise, Idaho, is making itself known as a travel destination to folks who are not only looking for outdoor adventures but that are also looking for excellent places to eat and drink. As a local, I love that Boise is slowly turning into a foodie city! Idaho is known for its potatoes, which just so happen to pair perfectly with a juicy burger.
Below, I rounded up 10 of the best burgers in Boise along with links to each spot’s menu and location. There’s an interactive map at the end to help you pick your next great burger spot! I didn’t include large chains, including In-N-Out, which is new to Boise, but we’ve been enjoying their burgers, too.
Did I miss your favorite burger spot in Boise? Please share it in the comments. I’m sure I’m missing a bunch of places, and Korri and I have a lot more research to do!

Where to Find the Best Burgers in Boise, Idaho
Bad Boy Burgers
Get directions to the Vista location.
If you’re looking for a locally-owned fast food restaurant featuring burgers that is open 7 days a week, Bad Boy Burgers is just the place. They’ve been operating in town since 1996! They offer a plethora of burgers, including vegetarian options. Be sure to check their daily specials from Monday through Saturday. Note that the Vista location only has a drive-through and limited outdoor seating while the Federal Way location has indoor seating.
Big Jud’s
Big Jud’s is a local chain with other locations in Idaho, and it’s also one of the most popular burger joints. We typically get our go-to burgers, a bacon cheeseburger for Korri and a regular cheeseburger for me. The jalapeño option is also good! They no longer make fresh-cut fries, which is the most disappointing part. If you’re REALLY hungry, you can take on the “Big Jud Special”—a one-pound patty served with fries and a drink.
Boise Fry Company
Get directions to the downtown location.
Boise Fry Company is most known for the variety of fries offered (a bunch of different potato types and fry styles), but their burgers made from locally-sourced ingredients are also worth a try if you’re hungry enough. In addition to wagyu blend beef, they also offer bison burgers, which is what Korri usually goes for. Their burgers are built on potato buns—yum! Vegan patties are also available. I recommend the “Original” condiments!
Burger Belly
Burger Belly has been one of Korri’s absolute favorite burger spots since it opened over 10 years ago. It’s located right next to the Boise State campus and stadium, making it a popular spot for college students. Korri goes for the regular bacon cheeseburger; he loves the fry sauce on the burger. The fries and tots are also fantastic! I’m boring and typically get a regular cheeseburger, but as a lettuce fiend, I wish they used more lettuce.
Eureka!
Located in the heart of downtown Boise on 8th Street, regional-ish chain Eureka! offers a bunch of burgers in addition to sandwiches, salads, and shareable appetizers. The Bacon Jalapeño Jam Burger features crunchy caramelized onion and bacon-infused jalapeño jam. If you like spicy burgers, Eureka! is your place—they also offer a Jalapeño Egg Burger, Black and Blue Mushroom with chili aioli, and Fresno Fig Burger with spicy mustard.
The Grove by Lemon Tree
The Grove by Lemon Tree located on Parkcenter in southeast Boise quickly became one of Korri’s favorite spots to enjoy a burger in Boise. The main Lemon Tree restaurants offers sandwiches and salads, and they opened “The Grove” with a hot grill, serving burgers, tacos, flatbreads, and more. Korri loves his cheeseburger with the crunchy onions and arugula. You must also get the Lemon Tree salad—it’s my favorite salad and SO good.
Sid’s Garage
Get directions to the downtown location.
Sid’s Garage is known for their huge burgers and over-the-top milkshakes. With two locations in Boise (downtown and in southeast Boise), it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a burger! Their burgers are a bit difficult to eat because of the towering bun and layers of condiments. My favorite is the Steakhouse Burger—the seasoning on the meat is flavorful and I love the arugula! Korri is a fan of the Not So Whimpie Burger with candied bacon.
Tavern at Bown
If you find yourself in southeast Boise on the hunt for a hearty burger, check out Tavern at Bown Crossing. Korri loves the Jalapeño Bacon Burger, which features fresh jalapeños and perfectly-cooked bacon (in his opinion). Their burgers are made from a locally-sourced blend of American wagyu, short rib, brisket, and ground chuck. Their fries are also fantastic! In addition to burgers, they also offer salads, sandwiches, steaks, seafood, and more.
Westside Drive In
Get directions to the west downtown location.
Westside Drive In is a Boise staple. Have you heard of the Idaho Ice Cream Potato? That’s from Westside! (Korri and I had our first date at Westside!) When I’m craving a burger, it’s usually a Westside burger. I’m a big fan of their Smashburger—it’s a mix of wagyu and chuck. I absolutely love that Westside FILLS their burgers with lettuce! It’s the perfect amount. You must also get curly fries! Korri always opts for a bacon cheeseburger.
10 Barrel Brewing
Located in downtown Boise, Oregon-based regional brew pub 10 Barrel Brewing offers delicious burgers, pizza, and other pub fare in addition to their popular beers available on tap. They have multiple burger options available with unique flavor combinations. Korri goes for their Pubhouse Burger with bacon and crispy fried onion, and my pick is the Old School Burger (can’t go wrong with a classic cheeseburger with relish).
