A couple of weekends ago, I found myself in need of some outfit inspiration so I started playing around with new items at home and put this outfit together. I snapped a photo and shared it on IG stories to gauge your thoughts, and I was surprised that the majority of you were into it! I was definitely not sure about it when I first put it on; Korri was a fan of it, though. I put my uncertainty aside and shot it for the blog anyway. Turns out this could easily be an easy last minute shop-your-closet Halloween costume. Doesn’t it look like I could be on a safari if I was holding binoculars in one hand and a camera in the other? Maybe it’s a stretch but I’m going with it since I don’t have any other outfit remotely close to a costume to share right before Halloween, haha!

I purchased this sweater by BP in the most recent Nordstrom sale. It was definitely an impulse buy; I didn’t need another sweater, especially just to wear around the house, but this one came in at half off and I loved the autumnal color and texture too much to pass on it! Unfortunately, it’s now mostly sold out, but keep an eye out for returns if you’re interested. I see it pop back every once in a while!

I’ve been interested in pairing these straight leg crops by Everlane with my slim waterproof suede ankle boots by Aquatalia (the style is called the Tilly and is no longer available) but always hesitated because the pants hit right at the top of the shaft of the ankle boots and I wish there was a little more overlap. I have the crops in the short length, and I think they would work better in this combination if they were regular length. I actually own the short length in both these straight leg crops and my wide leg crops, but the short length is shorter on the straight leg crop. Kind of annoying if you ask me! Oh well.

What do you think? Is this look too much autumn happening at once, or is it just right? Are you dressing up for Halloween this year? I still can’t believe Halloween is on a Saturday, the same night as a full moon, and the day before we fall back into standard time, so we “gain” an hour. It’s too bad we’re still in a pandemic and not making any sort of progress on that so there’s no fun activities. (Things are worsening here. I’m disappointed but not surprised.)
