Fall in Europe Wish List

For the first time since 2016, I’m headed to Europe! (Next month to be exact!) I cannot believe this trip that my family and I have been planning for YEARS is finally here. Whew. I know the next few weeks are going to go quick, and I’m really trying to get everything I may need now so that I’m not scrambling a few days before we leave. I have a really bad habit of doing that, and it’s past time to kick that! Lol.

I’m planning to pack everything I need for two weeks in a carry-on only (gulp!). It’s going to be tough! I’ve already started planning my packing list on Stylebook and will also use my Weekly Outfit Diary to figure out potential outfit ideas once we get closer and have a better idea of the weather. I also just learned about this TikTok account (she’s also on Instagram) and am getting so much great packing inspiration from her!

I’m trying not to buy too many new clothes ahead of the trip and just rely on things I already own, but I can’t help but dream about what I would buy if I was checking a bag/if I had the money to buy a new wardrobe ahead of the trip, ha. On that note, here are 10 items on my fall in Europe wish list! What are your go-to Europe travel items?

Fall in Europe Wish List

I’m planning to pack everything in a carry-on (and use my Dagne Dover Landon carryall as a personal item) but I do anticipate purchasing some things while I’m abroad. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect bag that I can squish in my carry-on and use on the way home for my extra things (in this case, I’d check my roller bag). I’m going to order this packable backpack from Amazon, but I can’t decide between the 24L and 32L sizes. I may just order both and see how much each can hold (and how heavy they are) and decide from there! My step mom has one and loves it.

I’ve never used packing cubes before (I don’t own any), but I’m highly tempted to try them for our trip, and I’m curious to see if compression packing cubes actually do save space. I’m torn because it seems like all that extra fabric from the packing cubes could take up even MORE space. I have joked with Korri about vacuum bagging my clothes so that I can stuff my bag full, lol. (There would just be no way to vacuum bag them again on our way home!) Have you tried compression packing cubes like these? Yay/nay?

I already own a different pair of Blondo boots but aren’t these cute?! The lugsole looks comfy. My Blondo boots are currently in my packing list because they’re cute and waterproof without looking like rain boots. HOWEVER, I’ve worn them to walk around Seattle and my feet were killing me after only a day, so I don’t know if they’re a great option for Europe (or I may just need to save them for long train travel days when I don’t do as much walking). I don’t want to bring regular rain boots if I can help it. Hopefully it’s just not going to rain! Haha. One can hope. (Perhaps I should look into an insole of some kind…?)

I’ve heard nothing but great things about this super soft sweater shirt, and a shirt like this would be absolutely perfect for fall in Europe! I imagine wearing it while holding a cup of chai when there’s a bit of a chill in the air. My favorite color is the pure white twill; it’s not sheer and would go with anything else you pack.

A couple of weeks ago, I had to make a return at Madewell and decided to pop into Lululemon to try on their leggings for the first time. I know they have a cult following so I figured I’d try them on and see what the big deal was all about. OMG, I get it. They are sooo soft and comfy! I tried on a couple of different sizes in the Aligns (25” length) and both fit me (with the larger size being perfect for those bloated days). I haven’t decided which size I want to order for our trip but I’m definitely planning on it; they’d be perfect to wear on the long flight!

I already have a short trench coat, but it doesn’t stop me from pining for a new style! Trench coats these days are either long (past the knee) or cropped (above the hip). I picked a cropped trench coat for the collage and also because it would be easier to pack (or wear). 😆 It’s the perfect lightweight third piece for fall weather. Plus, it’s water resistant in case there’s a rain shower!

Gasp! I know…skinny jeans. They may not be cool anymore, but they just work so well with any sort of shoe option that I’m leaning towards packing a pair. I have my eyes on these jeans in particular (Madewell’s curvy denim is my fave) but I just realized that I do own one pair of skinny jeans that may work. My fluctuating weight has really messed with my denim wardrobe and I’m tired of needing to buy new jeans! (I also recently purchased these perfect vintage jeans with the $50 off promo Madewell is running for donating an old pair.)

The last thing I need is a new bag but lordy is this crossbody cute! I’ve had my eye on it for over a year and keep coming back to it. I absolutely adore the embossed croc detail. It’s a great size to hold all the essentials while museum hopping/site seeing, and the zipper top keeps things secure and away from grabby hands.

I already own this sweater in burgundy and it may make the packing list cut but I do wish I had gotten a size larger because it shrunk a bit after being washed. It is SO soft, though, and such a great basic for a fall packing list! I typically wear undershirts under sweaters to keep them fresher for longer and that would be the case for this trip, too. Out of a few different brands that offer affordable cashmere sweaters, this is one of my favorites!

My current hair straightener is so old, I’m surprised it’s still kicking. It’s wide and heavy and not conducive to travel. While I don’t straighten my hair all the time, I like to have the option in case I wake up to unruly hair, and I really love how this flat iron is small and perfect for travel! It even adapts to any voltage automatically. The small iron also means I could attempt to style my hair in waves (though I should probably practice here in the states first haha).
