A few months ago, my step mom sent me a picture of one of their cats wearing a "Ty" tag (Beanie Babies, anyone?)...and one of my brothers was sitting behind him on the stairs wearing an outfit very similar to the one I'm wearing here. A light bulb in my head flipped on immediately and I knew I had to recreate it myself, all the way down to posing on stairs. He just looked so cool in a striped tee (that I'm pretty sure is this navy striped Grana tee I got him for Christmas) and green pants with a peg-leg cuff. (Side note: He's graduating high school next week and I can't believe it! Time flies.)
Now this isn't the first time I wore these green chino pants with navy stripes (here's the first time—back from my early blogging days), but this is my favorite time. This tee and these pants go so well together, and not just because they're both by J.Crew. I tried to double-cuff these pants to look like my brother's pants, but mine are too skinny and didn't look quite right (they didn't have the peg-leg effect that his did). Instead, I cuffed them under to shorten them a bit. I finished the outfit with my navy Salt Water sandals for a casual-cool effect. Simple yet satisfying. :) Thanks for the inspo, not-so-little bro!
