You may have noticed in my last outfit post, but if not—I got blonde highlights again! I first got them last summer but couldn't maintain them through the winter because I'm poor. I decided to get them again recently to welcome spring. Plus, I just feel more myself when I'm blonde. ;) I might even get full highlights once I have a real job (if I ever find a job; the job-hunting struggle is real right now).
We just had spring break at my university, and the lack of people on campus (and my lack of meetings) inspired me to try a look I've been a bit wary of: wearing a sheer top with a black bra underneath. When I first saw this look, I did not like it. I didn't understand why people would want to show off a bra. Well, I'm glad to say that I've since decided that it's empowering as a woman to "own" your undergarments. I usually wear this shirt with a nude-to-me bra and tank top, but I decided to embrace its sheerness and wore a contrasting black bra (mine is the Natori 'Feathers' bra—love!). I didn't feel exposed, and I felt airy on a warm day (my ponte pants aren't exactly ideal on warm days, so the linen was a nice balance). I added the red loafers for a fun and unexpected bit of color.
I've been obsessing over wearing delicate necklaces underneath collars recently (also seen in this outfit post), so of course I wore my Gorjana necklace under an open collar here. I wore this exact shirt and necklace combination just like this in Vienna last June and felt very chic!
