Summer 2026 Wardrobe Additions
I can’t believe summer has come and gone! I shopped a bit more this past quarter. I did place an order during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale—but it was only one big order, so that was an improvement over previous years when I’d order a few things multiple times. I also ordered a few things from Quince ahead of our recent trip to Spain, and I did some secondhand shopping on Poshmark.
Below, I rounded up everything I added to my wardrobe this past summer! All of my 2026 clothing purchases can be found on this Pinterest board. I also shared the items I tried and returned and what’s coming up for fall!

Summer 2026 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions
$600 (quarterly budget) = $600 - $380 ($0 June + $215.50 July + $164.50 August) => $220 left over
Items I added to my wardrobe:
Anthropologie Somerset Dress via Poshmark (not pictured | used $70 credit)
I do not know how I found this dress originally, but I ended up purchasing it with my trip to Spain in mind. It’s a fun blue floral print on a white background, and the dress had been professionally shortened which is perfect for me. I didn’t pack it because I thought it’d take up too much space, so I have another fun outing planned for it; fingers crossed it works out! Quince has a very similar option if you are in the market.
Dagne Dover Jax Large Fanny Pack (paid $88 | originally $130)
I love my Dagne Dover Ace fanny pack, but I found it to be on the small end for European vacations, so I purchased their relatively new larger fanny pack to bring instead. This was the only bag I brought to Spain, and it worked out perfectly! It’s my new go-to bag since the trip.
Free People Lake Stripe Rib Henley (paid $53 | originally $68)
I haven’t purchased many clothing items in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale besides activewear and loungewear in years past, but this henley caught my eye. I ended up purchasing the “tea combo” colorway in size large after reading reviews that said it ran small/tight. The large is very comfy and fits me similar to how the henley fits the model. I thought it would also make an excellent top to wear to the barn.
Madewell High-Rise Denim Shorts in Glenoaks Wash: Cutoff Edition via Poshmark (not pictured | used $19 credit)
I previously purchased a pair of these shorts back in spring 2019, and my original pair is long gone because they didn’t fit me anymore. I came across an inexpensive pair on Poshmark and decided to grab them to wear at the barn in the summer! I purchased size 29, which is perhaps a size too big, but better too big than too small.
Madewell The Untailored Wide-Leg Crop Pant in Striped Lightspun (not pictured | used $22 credit)
I absolutely love these pants that I originally purchased in spring 2023 in size small. While the smalls still fit, if I’m at all bloated, they dig in a bit too much. Luckily, I found the same pants in size medium on Poshmark! They do seem a bit shorter in length than my original pair, so I’m considering having them lengthened a bit.
Quince 100% Organic Cotton Gauze Sleeveless Swing Dress in bayside stripe coral/white and ocean breeze (paid $69 for coral/white stripe and $63.50 for blue)
I love this style of dress so much; it’s perfect if you aren’t a fan of anything hugging you at the midsection. I’d happily own this dress in every color, but I started with the gorgeous coral/white stripes and the light blue called “ocean breeze”. I brought the striped dress to Spain, and it was an excellent choice! It packed surprisingly well (better than linen IMO). Both colors are fully lined AND feature pockets. I took size medium and wear bralettes underneath instead of regular bras (read more on those below).
Zella Renew Crop Tank (paid $32 | originally $49)
I can’t seem to let a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale go by without buying new activewear. This time, I got a new crop tank in black melange, size medium. I didn’t want it to be too compressive. I figured it could be a nice layering piece, especially under tees at the barn.
Zella Studio Luxe Pocket Bike Shorts (paid $42.50 | originally $59)
I also added a new pair of bike shorts to the rotation. I already own these shorts in black and navy and decided to add the light blue called blue “placid” to my activewear wardrobe this time around. I take size medium!
Items not included in clothing budget:
I purchased Quince’s tank bralettes in sand to wear underneath the cotton gauze dresses and other garments with large armholes. I personally don’t like it when a regular bra shows in the arm holes, so I wore sports bras in the past, but sometimes you want something comfier and less compressive. These bralettes are perfect!
Items I’m still deciding on:
Like other items from this past quarter, I also ordered this blazer thinking it could be a good third piece option for Spain. I ended up not packing it because it would have taken up too much space, and I didn’t want to deal with wrinkles. I’m not crazy about the shoulder pads as someone with already broad shoulders, but every time I put it on, I don’t hate it, and it fits well in size medium. I’m undecided on this one! I ordered this in flax and may try a different color…
I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair of linen pants, so I ordered these in flax to match the blazer. I ordered two sizes, medium and large, because reviews worried me about the sizing. I’d stick with my usual size medium. I didn’t know if I would like the fit, and like the blazer, I’m not sure if I like the pants overall and want to maybe try another color.
Items I tried and returned:
I didn’t return anything I bought this quarter, but the two items above may end up being either returned or exchanged.
What’s on deck for fall:
So many things in my closet no longer fit me, and I desperately need to pare down my collection of sweaters in particular. I’m loving the teak brown color of Quince’s cashmere sweatshirt!
