Spring 2026 Wardrobe Additions
I only placed orders from three retailers this past spring: Athleta, MATE the Label, and Vuori. Athleta had a sale in March that I took advantage of (and during which I ordered four pairs of shorts), and MATE the Label had their annual birthday sale in May (I purchased five items, two of which were not counted against my budget).
Below, I rounded up everything I added to my wardrobe this past spring! All of my 2026 clothing purchases will be on a dedicated Pinterest board eventually. I also shared the items I tried and returned and what’s coming up for summer!

Spring 2026 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions
$600 (quarterly budget) = $600 - $524 ($266 March + $0 April + $258 May) => $76 left over
Items I added to my wardrobe:
Athleta Forever Fleece Mid Rise 4" Short (paid $37 | originally $65)
During an Athleta sale in March, I ended up placing an order for four pairs of shorts. I’d been wanting more comfy shorts to wear around the house, and I have to admit, I did not think I’d own sweatshorts, but these are awesome! I wear them all the time to lounge at home, but they’re also nice enough to wear out if I need to run a quick errand and don’t want to change. They’re perfectly loose in size medium.
Athleta Retreat Linen Mid Rise 4" Short in undyed and woodland (paid $43 each | originally $75 each)
I was excited for a couple of new pairs of linen shorts. I purchased these in two colors, undyed (light creamy tan) and woodland (chocolate brown) in size medium. They fit well, but I haven’t reached for them yet. I think they will make their outfit debut sometime this summer as it gets hotter.
Athleta Seasoft Mid Rise 4" Short (paid $43.50 | originally $65)
This is another pair of comfy shorts to wear around the house. I was hoping the black color would be more of a stark black, but the tencel material gives them more of a washed black appearance. I wasn’t sure about them at first, but I’ve since worn them a number of times (and I’m wearing them as I write this post!). I also took these in size medium.
MATE the Label Organic Stretch Biker Short (paid $54 | originally $68)
I previously purchased these shorts in black and needed another pair to add to my rotation now that I’m consistently working out 3-4 times a week. This time, I opted for the forest color in size medium, which fits ever so slightly snug compared to my black shorts.
MATE the Label Organic Waffle Crew Top (paid $102 | originally $138)
I had been eyeing MATE’s waffle tops since they were released and finally snatched a couple up in their most recent sale (though funny enough, these tops were discounted prior to their big birthday sale in May). In the crewneck top, I purchased the heather grey color in size medium. I wore it to work but it didn’t quite feel right as a work top because of the loose fit, so I’ll probably keep this one for lounging around at home.
MATE the Label Organic Waffle Polo (paid $102 | originally $138)
I also made this waffle-knit polo mine during the sale! I purchased it in bone, size medium, and I prefer the fit of the polo to the grey crew top I also got. It’s a bit boxier through the body (not as form-fitting around my stomach), shorter in length, and the cuffs on the sleeves are shorter—all of which I prefer to the crewneck top.
Vuori Restore Half Zip Hoodie (paid $99.50 | originally $118)
I love my first Restore Half Zip Hoodie so much that I purchased a second in white when I saw it on sale this spring. I was nervous to buy white because I’m prone to stains, but so far I haven’t ruined it, and I’ve even already traveled with it! I took size medium and it’s perfectly comfy.
Items not included in clothing budget:
In the MATE the Label sale, I also purchased a new sleep set. I absolutely love MATE’s sleepwear! I didn’t need another sleep set, but I wear sleep shorts constantly and wanted another set so I didn’t have to do laundry as frequently. I purchased both items in the color mocha.
I took a medium in both the tee and the boxer short. The tee really is oversized, so I could have sized down except for the fact that I find the the collar to be quite snug. The short also fits slightly snug in medium around the waist but not enough to be uncomfortable.
Items I tried and returned:
I didn’t return anything I bought this quarter!
What’s on deck for summer:
No idea!
I’ve been focused so much on beefing up my collection of riding gear that I don’t have any new “regular” clothes in mind for summer. I usually find something I could use in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale that’s coming up in a few shorts weeks, so I’m sure there will be something to report back on in three months. Stay tuned!
