Here's a random fun fact for your Wednesday (or whenever you happen to be reading this): The official state gem of Idaho (which is also known as the "Gem State", fittingly) is called the star garnet. The color of a star garnet is nothing like the bold red of the sweater featured in today's look, but I got slightly distracted while putting together this post and wanted to share that anyway. ;)

I've been cycling through my favorite sweaters to get me through the last few weeks of winter (my fingers are crossed that it doesn't last longer than mid-March...). This bold red sweater is eye-catching and spirit-uplifting on a particularly grey day. I thought my brilliant idea of fully tucking it into my new boyfriend jeans would make me look taller, but I actually think I look shorter than usual? I don't mind being short or looking short, really, but it's slightly jarring to expect one outcome and see something different. Maybe it's the boots?

That said, it's the little things making me happy nowadays, and those include but are not limited to these boyfriend jeans (so comfy I could wear them every day) and matching my belt to my boots.
