Since I'm a current resident of Utah, I figured I needed to shoot one of my #WhereOnEarthRU looks there. It's pretty fun to shoot one look in Idaho and one in Utah. :) My time here is winding down (I'm defending next month and moving in two months), so I need to take advantage of as much as I can before I leave. To be honest, not a whole lot comes to mind when I think of iconic/photogenic places in the Salt Lake area (besides the temple, capitol, mountains, and the lake...?). There are breathtaking national parks and tons of open space around the state, but it feels weird to shoot a regular outfit with a backdrop like that. (I wouldn't hike in this outfit, haha.) I decided to take my boyfriend to Liberty Park in central SLC for an afternoon stroll. The park covers about eight blocks (and SLC blocks are huge) and includes a pond, playground, volleyball nets, tennis courts, grills, an aviary, and tons of open space to enjoy warm spring and summer days. I love the beautiful views of the Wasatch Mountains!

These Earth 'Pineberry' ankle boots in taupe were the first pair I picked out from the brand's spring/ summer 2017 selection. I have quite an array of ankle boots yet none that were a light tan like these, so I figured they were a perfect choice! It was harder to come up with an outfit featuring them, though. I'm not sure why, exactly, but maybe it's because I'm so used to wearing my cognac or black ankle boots. Taupe is a bit more out of my comfort zone than I thought, which I guess is why I didn't own a pair until now! Still, I'm excited to style these in future looks. :) I got my usual size 7, and these fit perfect without socks and a bit snug with socks. Reviewers suggested ordering a half size up, so if you plan to wear yours with socks, I'd recommend doing that, too.

I put this outfit together from the shoes up. I knew I wanted to wear these boots with my green chinos, but I wasn't 100% sure about the top. I actually would have loved to wear the tropical-print tank on its own, but it was too chilly to go without an extra layer, so this outfit ended up looking a lot like the previous outfit. The cream cardigan goes well with the cream in the tank and plays off of the taupe boots. I got light-colored no-show socks to wear with the boots since the perforations go all the way through, but I went without socks here and was totally comfortable (though I'd worry about sweat/smell if I wear them a few times sans socks). I added the earrings for some glitz and because I like the earrings and top together (the last time I wore both of them was together!).
