Way to vote

Black and white stripes, red skirt, cognac ankle boots, white bucket bag — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Last night, I participated in my first ever caucus! It was totally not what I was expecting, though. First, we filled out our presidential preference ballots. After that, we met as precincts to pick delegates to vote on behalf of our precinct on candidates at the local and state level—NOT national (i.e. not the president). Chris and I were in line about 45 minutes before "doors opened", so we were near the front and got through the preference poll in just a few minutes after doors opened. We sat in the caucus room for quite a while afterward, waiting for more people to vote and then file in. The line at our caucus location was insanely long. Everyone who was in line by 8:30 got to vote, and when we left after the caucus (just after 8:30), the line weaved through the building, out the door and down the street for at least a couple of blocks. The turnout was amazing—despite the fact that it was cold and snowing—and I'm hoping the turnout is just as great in November!

In other news, the temperature actually hit 70°F this past weekend, and I didn't freeze my legs off wearing this skirt! Like I said, it snowed again yesterday... womp-womp.
