Ice Cream and Wine Flight at The STIL

How to style Everlane Easy Shorts for summer | casual weekend outfit idea | Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

How was your holiday weekend? I didn’t leave the house Saturday, which was great, and then on Sunday, Korri and I started the day being lazy, then we went out for ice cream and wine flights at The STIL. We weren’t sure what to do for dinner, so we ran to the store to grab a few things to make homemade pizzas (one of our favorite meals as of late—they’re AMAZING on naan bread but the store didn’t have any this time). As soon as we got home, we learned that his parents were going to the Boise Hawks baseball game, mostly for the fireworks afterward, so we ate our dinner quickly and met up with them. So, my no-plans weekend ended up quite full with plans after all!

I’ll be the first to tell you I wasn’t thrilled about attending the baseball game because the last Hawks game we went to (4th of July weekend five years ago; it was one of the first things Korri and I did together, and my family was there, too) was SO LONG and boring. But it was actually entertaining this time, haha. After getting home, we watched a couple episodes of Too Hot to Handle on Netflix.

By some miracle, we caught The STIL when it wasn’t busy, so we had some fun shooting photos with our ice cream flight! It was my first flight since the pandemic. 😉😆 (But it was super hot out so if you look closely you can see the ice cream starting to puddle lol.) Today’s post is all about the ice cream at one of our favorite places in Boise, and I also rounded up a list of other places to grab ice cream if you find yourself in town!

Ice Cream at The STIL

The STIL is short for “the sweetest things in life”—and all of their flavors, which are all created in-house with local ingredients, are named after a sweetest thing in life.

The majority of their flavors are gluten-free, and they also offer a variety of vegan flavors. If you’re over 21, there are also a few booze-infused flavors! Some of my favorite flavors are Deja Vu (almond cream, Oreos, and waffle cone pieces), Summer Hike (strawberry sorbet), and When in Rome (lemon olive oil; only available in the summer).

During the pandemic, The STIL pivoted and offered weekly doorstep pint deliveries, of which I took advantage quite often! They also teamed up with other local companies to offer ice cream pints and a product from that company. Such a great idea!

ICE CREAM FLIGHTS

In addition to standard scoops of ice cream in cones (sugar or waffle) or cups, you can also order a flight of ice cream! You can choose a flight of 8 ice cream flavors, or if you want some booze, they also offer an ice cream and beer flight (featuring local beers) AND an ice cream and wine flight (featuring local wines; what we ordered)! You can also opt for a combination of beer and wine (two each). All flights are under $20 each.

How it works: You pick the ice cream flavors you want and then you can either pick the beer/wine you want or you can ask for their recommendation on pairings with the ice cream flavors you picked. Korri and I picked all of our ice cream flavors and wines for this flight. We got Deju Vu, Summer Hike, When in Rome, and a new flavor called Going for Gold (chai and turmeric spiced honey). The wine selection wasn’t extensive; we picked a cabernet, pinot noir, riesling, and prosecco. I prefer white wines and Korri tends to prefer red. I liked the prosecco the most, and Korri liked the cab!

Our ice cream flavors didn’t pair that well with all of the wines (Deju Vu wasn’t good with any of them, haha), but it was still a yummy summer treat! We enjoyed all the ice cream flavors. It was the perfect amount of ice cream, and the wine pours weren’t skimpy, either. Next time we want to try the ice cream flight with 8 different flavors because there are so many good ones to choose from!
