Flannel Friday

Outerknown Sierra flannel shirt + Everlane authentic stretch skinny jeans + L.L.Bean boots — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Contrary to what the calendar suggests about the current season, it hasn’t felt much like winter here this month! We’ve had a few random small snow showers here and there that have melted almost immediately; for the most part it’s been fairly warm…and rainy! Of course, the one winter I’m not commuting to and from the office, it doesn’t snow. The one winter where it’s okay if it snows a foot because I’m staying home anyway.

I shouldn’t get ahead of myself, though—February is still to come. Last year we had an unseasonably warm January and snow storms in February!

Good news is that no matter what the weather is throwing at you—whether it’s snowing, raining, or just cold in general—flannel shirts are there to keep you cozy! Along with sweaters, they’re a staple in my wardrobe in the cooler months. I recently added the Outerknown Sierra flannel shirt to my collection and couldn’t be happier with the thickness and weight.

The Outerknown Sierra flannel shirt comes in eight colorways (I’m wearing the marine edie plaid) and in sizes XS-XL. My measurements match up to a size small, so that’s what I ordered and I’m happy with the fit. It’s slightly loose and boxy, which is what I prefer nowadays. I didn’t notice that the shoulders were dropped until I received the flannel, but it’s not super noticeable. The price is quite high; I ordered mine during their BF/CM sale. Their prices are on the higher end because Outerknown is extremely committed to sustainability: 90% of their fibers are organic, recycled, or regenerated, and they are accredited with the Fair Labor Association, among other things!

Flannel always makes me feel outdoorsy, so I paired the Outerknown Sierra with my L.L.Bean duck boots. This is the type of outfit I’d wear on short winter nature walks, and the boots are great in inclement weather, too! It also works great as a quick grocery-run outfit, haha.

I’m also wearing my newest pair of jeans: Everlane curvy authentic stretch skinnies in the dark blue wash! I realized that I didn’t have any pairs of dark wash denim that fit me, so I scooped this pair up to try and am so pleased with them. Not sure why I didn’t order these jeans sooner to be honest! They’ll be perfect for if/when I go back into the office. Keep an eye out for my full review post and comparison with my Madewell curvy denim coming soon.

Hope you have a warm and cozy weekend! 🤗
