Little Blue Dress
In my mind, summer = dress season. Nothing reminds me more of summer than a good sundress and straw hat combination. After purchasing this little blue striped dress from Everlane last fall, I finally got a chance to wear it! Of course, I had to pair it with my straw hat, and I added neutral wedge sandals and a coordinating navy bag to finish the look. Midi style dresses are growing on me; this one doesn’t feel like it’s swallowing me. It’s appropriate for the office, too—just throw on a cardigan or blazer!
I love this dress, but I will say two things: 1) the fabric is more suited for temperate weather and not hot summer weather…it’s definitely great for transitional spring and fall dressing if you live somewhere with four seasons, and 2) it runs small in the bust, and that’s saying a lot for me because mine is small. I probably should have gotten a size 2, but I ordered a size 0. It fits well elsewhere, though my quarantine diet (read: carbs) is making things feel slightly snug nowadays.
Bonus features: hidden side pockets, a removable belt, and adjustable straps! There’s a hidden button and three holes in the back of each strap. Some of the reviewers said the button(s) popped, but mine haven’t…yet. If I had made a sudden move they might have. I didn’t realize that I could have dropped the straps one more hole, which I will try next time to see if that helps in the bust area.
