April Style Sudoku, At Home: Outfits 1–5

Happy Friday! Here are the first five outfits from my April style sudoku, at home edition. Following my previous style sudokus, I’m grouping the 14 outfits into three posts to be published after each group of outfits is worn. Below, you’ll find all the details on what I wore on each day, the activities for that day, and my thoughts on each outfit and how well it worked for me. To practice gratitude, I also added three things I’m thankful for. ☺️

OUTFIT 1 • Sunday, April 12th

April Style Sudoku, At Home Edition: Outfit 1 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Today was Easter Sunday. We didn’t have any big plans (as you probably expected), but Korri smoked a tri tip roast for dinner, and my parents dropped off some homemade magic potatoes (a family staple on Easter). I suppose you could consider those big plans in today’s world, eh? We also had a Zoom meeting with my mom and step dad and my brother and his girlfriend. It was good to see faces that I hadn’t seen in what feels like forever!

We shot all of the style sudoku outfits, and I kicked off the style challenge with this rather “boring” outfit. I realized that all of my outfits could be considered boring this time. It’s weird to be blogging outfits that are so casual (and blogging right now is weird in general), but I know I’ll appreciate looking back at these posts once the pandemic is done.

Three things I’m thankful for: 1) my cat, Rosie (today was her 12th birthday!); 2) my parents for making us more food; 3) Zoom for family meetings

OUTFIT 2 • Monday, April 13th

April Style Sudoku, At Home Edition: Outfit 2 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Monday marked the start of my fifth week working from home. I can’t believe I haven’t seen my desk in weeks! Even though it is weird, I really have been enjoying my lack of commute, cuddling with my cats, and eating food whenever I want (though I do need to calm down on that last one…I’ve been ordering cookies for delivery way too often, haha).

I kicked off the work week with a cozy chunky cardigan, striped tee, and joggers. Even though I didn’t go outside, I still wore one of my warmest outfits on what was one of the coolest days of the week. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to stop dressing for the weather! 😂 In the evening, we watched the new Listen to your Heart show (which is just like Bachelor in Paradise), Songland, and 90 Day Fiancé.

Three things I’m thankful for: 1) my job and ability to work from home; 2) the distraction of 90 Day Fiancé; 3) cozy cardigans

OUTFIT 3 • Tuesday, April 14th

April Style Sudoku, At Home Edition: Outfit 3 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

These wide leg pants from Amour Vert are one of my recent clothing purchases, and I knew I had to include them in my style sudoku! I loved them from the moment I put them on. They are wonderfully soft and swingy but not what I would consider a lightweight knit. The best part, though, is probably the side pockets. Everything is better with pockets! I’m already looking forward to wearing them over and over again…! I’m not sure that they are work appropriate for the office, but if I can figure out a way to wear them to the office once we are called back, I’m going to do it, haha!

Korri and I picked up dinner from a local place in downtown Boise—huge breakfast burritos with an arugula salad—and everything was amazing. I was so hungry that I ate the whole burrito, and then it caught up to me and I couldn’t move from the couch the whole night. Worth it, though. Yum!

Three things I’m thankful for: 1) wide leg stretchy pants; 2) the ability to support our favorite local restaurants; 3) arugula, my favorite salad green

OUTFIT 4 • Wednesday, April 15th

April Style Sudoku, At Home Edition: Outfit 4 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

I worked a little bit extra because I needed to run an errand at some point during the week and wasn’t sure how long it would take. Other than that, it was another typical work from home day! We got some showers during the day, which is always fun when you are stuck inside. 😉

Our Green Chef box was delivered, and every meal we got looked absolutely amazing. The quinoa tacos we made for dinner are one of our favorite meals! Truly, we are so incredibly grateful for Green Chef and the fact three meals are taken care of every week, especially right now when we are avoiding the grocery stores as much as possible.

Three things I’m thankful for: 1) Green Chef; 2) spring showers; 3) dishwashers—we are running ours every other day

OUTFIT 5 • Thursday, April 16th

April Style Sudoku, At Home Edition: Outfit 5 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

It was an absolutely beautiful spring day to…work from home! Woo! Korri and I took a break in the middle of the afternoon to run to Costco. My car needed regular all-season tires; when I did the swap to my snow tires in the fall, the service center didn’t give me the option to take my old tires back because they needed to be replaced. New tires is always a fun expense (not), but it felt good to cross something off the to-do list, and it was my first time into a store in over a month. We wore the masks that my mom made and sent to us. Everything was weird.

Since we were out for a while, we both ended up working late to make up the time. I crashed hard on the couch afterwards…oops! Post-work naps are my favorite though, to be honest. Oh, and I ordered yet another box of cookies to be delivered…haha!

Three things I’m thankful for: 1) Cadbury cookies by Chip Cookies; 2) my car; 3) naps
