Happy in Faux Fur

I couldn’t let winter pass me by without pulling out my faux fur coat one more time. It makes me so happy every time I wear it. Shouldn’t all clothing items make you feel that way? I’m slowly but surely getting there with the rest of my closet. This coat isn’t the most practical; it’s not one I wear when it’s really cold out, I don’t wear it if there’s any threat of precipitation in the forecast, and I don’t wear it if I’ll be out and about somewhere it might get ruined. I’m usually the type of person that only buys something if it’s practical and can be worn pretty much anytime, anywhere, so buying a coat that needs to be babied more than usual is not something I do often and that’s why I only have the one!

Most of the items in this outfit have been in my closet for well over a year and are still going strong! Out of everything, only the jeans have been in my closet for less than a year (well, and the ear cuff). A simple black and denim base contrasts the the faux fur, and brown and black is one of my favorite underrated color palettes. The texture in the coat adds some dimension to keep the look from feeling boring. I added the ear cuff because it makes me feel cooler than I actually am, haha! I’m glad I expanded my horizons and tried a new-to-me earring style. It adds all the fun without the pain of a cartilage piercing. 😉
