Camel topcoat winter outfit with cashmere sweater, demi-boot jeans, suede boots — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

It’s been a couple of years since I last owned a camel coat; my old one was due for an upgrade, and I sold it before I found a replacement. I made due without a camel coat (of course, I never “need” any of the clothes I wish for) but kept my eyes peeled and never found one that I liked until this past fall. This topcoat from Banana Republic (which is dwindling in stock now that it’s January, sadly) has a more classic look and feels like a grown-up coat, which I guess I am or something now that I’m 30. ;)

I love that this look reads classic overall but features some items that make it very 2020 (still can’t get over that it’s 2020)—namely, the demi-bootcut jeans with frayed hems, the suede sock boots, and the faux fur pom-pom beanie (do those ever go out of style, though, really?). I opted for my pink cashmere sweater to keep things simple with the color palette, but any basic sweater would have worked here. I sized up to a small in the coat so I could accommodate thicker sweaters if need be!

It’s not too often that I put together a “complete” and cute winter outfit from head to toe, including the coat. Normally, I put together a decently cute look (consisting of my typical winter uniform: a sweater, skinny jeans/pants, and boots), but it’s usually far too cold outside to wear anything other than a puffer coat…and I don’t dress with my coat in mind when it’s cold! I only have a handful of coats, which is why I don’t blog them all that often—you’d see the same ones over and over again. But, if you find it helpful for me to show or mention which coat I wore if one isn’t shown, please let me know! Luckily, we’re having another unseasonably warm January save for one week of snow, and I’ve been able to break out my non-arctic winter coats as seen here.
