July Style Sudoku: Outfits 1–5

I’m nearly a week into my July style sudoku! The first few days always seem to go by so fast. As I did with my two previous style sudokus, I’m grouping the outfits into three posts starting with the first five outfits. Below, you’ll find all the details on what I wore on each day, the weather for that day, and my thoughts on each outfit and how well it worked for me.

OUTFIT 1 • Sunday, July 7th

July Style Sudoku: Outfit 1 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Day one! I spent most of the day finalizing my style sudoku and doing other house things and didn’t leave the house until later. We headed over to my dad’s house for dinner and activities (dominos!) before swinging by the grocery store. Even though it was a warm day, we split our time between my parents’ backyard, which cools off quite a bit in the evening, and inside the air conditioning, so jeans were perfectly comfortable. I wanted to save my shorts outfits for future weekend days because those looked to be much hotter!

This outfit is not particularly groundbreaking and is probably not one I would blog on its own, but it is something I would throw on on any given day. Can’t ever go wrong with a plain white tee and comfy boyfriend jeans.

July Style Sudoku: Outfit 2 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

There was a surprise on my commute to work: rain! That was definitely not in the forecast. ;) Luckily it wasn’t a heavy rain, and it had passed my office by the time I got there, so I didn’t ruin my pretty new Everlane sandals.

Speaking of, I know everyone and their mom has these crossover sandals…and I didn’t want to want them, but I was super curious after reading the rave reviews. I’ll add another rave review: the leather upper is so supple, and I love wearing these sandals. Yes, the sole is flat and not supportive, and because of that I wouldn’t wear these to walk long distances, but they’re amazing for short stints. I had to order a half size up after the order of my true size was cancelled, but they actually fit pretty well! I wish the leather was slightly snugger over my feet, but otherwise they’re great. Love them. I want to wear them everyday!

This monochrome green outfit is one of my “craziest” outfits of the style sudoku. Both the tee and the pants are also Everlane, so the greens go together pretty well. The blazer adds some contrast, and I’m a fan of the overall color scheme. It’s summery without being obviously summery, if that makes sense.

Weather: High of 85°F (29°C), sprinkles in the morning

July Style Sudoku: Outfit 3 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

After work, I had plans to head to happy hour with my family so I picked an outfit that could easily go from desk to, well, happy hour! I think this is my favorite outfit of the sudoku so far. I love the floaty top tucked into the boyfriend jeans, and the sandals take this look from being casual to being just dressed up enough to be worn to a nice restaurant!

OUTFIT 4 • Wednesday, July 10th

July Style Sudoku: Outfit 4 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Hot and dry is the name of the summer game here in Boise, ha. I decided this day would be a good day to pull out the cotton-linen skirt. I had three skirt outfit options to choose from and chose this one for the sandals and light cardigan. I didn’t really need the cardigan; our office A/C wasn’t running on overdrive for once, and I probably would have been fine without it. That said, I love feeling cozy and didn’t mind having it on inside. It definitely came off as soon as I stepped foot outside, though. Whew!

I stopped by my dad’s house later in the evening to hang out and bid farewell to my brother, who was preparing to leave for his third year of college. (Where does the time go?) The cardigan definitely came in handy for lounging around and snacking while they packed up the trailer.

OUTFIT 5 • Thursday, July 11th

July Style Sudoku: Outfit 5 — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

To avoid wearing my skirt to work for a second day in a row, I went with another outfit with the airy blouse. I was inside all day but I definitely would have opted for a skirt or shorts if I was going to be outside for long since it was another hot day! When I picked this blouse and these pants as part of my collaboration with Everlane, I thought they would make the perfect outfit…and I still agree with that assessment. I love a good billowy blouse tucked into a high-rise. :)
