Comin' in hot
Whew! I don't know about where you are, but it has felt so hot here the past week…and I know it’s only going to get worse! Is it too soon to say that summer is here? Technically, meteorological summer started on June 1st...and I know the solstice is coming up on Friday! I'm not ready for the days to get shorter, though. That's always a bummer. I love having light well into the evening, but maybe it’s because I’m a night owl. ;) (As I write this after midnight on the 18th…haha.)
When the weekends come around, or if I have any events in the evening, I like to break out the items that I don’t get to wear at work during the week. Sadly, my dresses don’t get any wear at work since most of them are on the shorter side…and I just bought another short dress (oops): this rainbow-striped beauty from Madewell! I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I do. It doesn’t cling to my midsection, it’s lined (with a removable lining), and it fits well in my usual size. The textured stripes are so fun! It features pockets, but I’m not such a huge fan of how visible the pockets are through the dress. The sleeve holes are on the slimmer side, too.
I ventured out last weekend to make an exchange at Madewell and check out what was new since their Insider’s Sale was going on. I didn’t end up buying anything; the one item I had my eyes on was not available in my size in store, and then it sold out online! I’m considering ordering a Ryder cardigan because I wear my current light cardigans all throughout the summer to work and could use a couple more options. Have you had your eyes on anything? I’m trying not to go overboard with spending but I want to buy everything right now! Ah!
