I had a very long weekend this past weekend thanks to Monday being a holiday and a whirlwind, 24-hour trip to Seattle, Washington, to see Kacey Musgraves in concert the past couple of days. Our trip gave us an extra two days off of work, and I’m looking forward to having an extra short work week! Is it bad that I’m already looking forward to the weekend again? ;)

In what feels like a new February trend, winter returned in full force this past weekend and brought with it cold temperatures and breezy winds (plus we returned to snow on the ground!). I’m realizing that as much as I want spring, I’m not super excited to dress for warmer weather…I’m feeling a little bit uninspired when it comes to my spring/summer wardrobe. I don’t know why, but I think I need to brainstorm some outfit combinations and maybe put together a wish list to get my creative juices flowing. Good thing we probably have about another month left of winter before spring kicks in—if it decides to show up “on time,” that is. Ha.

That said, since we’re nearing the end of winter, I’m struggling to come up with unique/”blogworthy” outfit combinations. I hastily threw together this outfit over the weekend; many times when I run errands in the winter, I’ll wear one of my coziest sweaters or cardigans and go without a coat if I’ll be inside for most of the time and if it’s not precipitating. Going without a coat means less bulk to deal with and means that I won’t overheat. This cardigan acts like a coat with its weight and length, and I added one of my Heattech tees underneath to keep things streamlined yet on the warmer side. I liked the all-black base with the denim. Finishing it off with my favorite Coach City bag and old Madewell ankle boot combination gave me one of my favorite color combinations of ivory, black, and cognac!
