I’ve really been feeling various shades of brown this fall, moreso than I typically do! I used to think my go-to neutral was grey/black, but I’m gravitating more towards browns and—I can’t really believe I’m saying this—I think they look better on my skin tone than grey… If you had told me a year or two ago that I’d be changing my tune about my favorite neutrals, I would have never believed you. That’s the fun part about experimenting with personal style, though. I gave brown a shot and now I love it! It definitely helps that when I wear brown, I match all the dead, crispy leaves. ;)

When I spotted this caramel brown sweater on & Other Stories a couple of months ago, I immediately gravitated towards it…I think because cognac is my absolute favorite shade of brown (I sing its praises all the time but most recently in this post). I had fun wearing it in my fall style sudoku last month, and now here it is styled with my chocolate brown tall boots. Tall, riding-style boots may not be totally in style right now, but I still love them. They make me happy every time I wear them! I picked a relatively timeless style with no extra details or embellishments and couldn’t be happier with my choice. I finished the look with a simple gold necklace and voilà! A simple, casual fall outfit was born.
