January Style Sudoku: Outfits 1–5
I started my style sudoku this past Sunday, and now that it has almost been a week, it’s time to dive into the details of the first few outfits! Below you’ll find outfit details, the weather for each day, what I did each day, if I needed to modify anything, and any other overall thoughts. I’ve already worn each item in the sudoku at least once!
OUTFIT 1 • Sunday, January 13th
I started off with one of the simpler outfits for an afternoon at a college gymnastics meet followed by dinner with my family and then a stop at the grocery store. Weekends are typically really low-key, which I don’t mind. This day had more plans than usual! I selected this outfit first because it’s easy weekend wear: a flannel shirt and ponte pants. It was chilly enough outside to warrant the beanie, but I liked wearing a relatively lighter top for the gymnastics meet because I can get nervous sweats, haha!

OUTFIT 2 • Monday, January 14th
Back at work! I opted to wear a layered outfit to stay warm at my desk, and since it wasn’t going to be rainy or snowy, I pulled out my red ankle boots! I’m glad I included these for an extra jolt of color. Even though the jeans weren’t the most comfortable, this outfit felt the most “me” of the outfits I wore these first few days.

OUTFIT 3 • Tuesday, January 15th
We woke up to a layer of snow on the ground unexpectedly, so I made the decision to wear one of my Hunter boot outfits. It ended up being a good decision since even though the snow melted, it refroze and there were icy patches in the parking lot at work! I was glad to have a pair of shoes on that had some traction. I felt comfortable and cozy in this sweater for a day at my desk.

OUTFIT 4 • Wednesday, January 16th
We had another snowy morning, but it warmed up during the day and rained in the afternoon and evening, so it was another day with the Hunter boots. I included this dress in my sudoku to force myself to think outside the box a little bit. I layered the voluminous, cropped cashmere sweater under the dress to give it the illusion of having bell sleeves. Even though I liked the outfit in theory, I have to admit that I didn’t really feel like myself when I wore it. It felt a little bit fussy for me (mostly because the sweater, with its cropped length, bunched around the waist). I wore this outfit to work and to make a Target run with Korri after work.

OUTFIT 5 • Thursday, January 17th
We officially over halfway through the first month in 2019! After two days of snow and then rain, there was another day of rain in the forecast. Luckily it was dry when I left home in the morning and didn’t look like it would be too rainy when I left work in the evening, so I decided to wear a different pair of boots. I only have four rainy-day outfits to choose from and already wore two of them! This weekend is looking rainy so I wanted to make sure to save those outfits. This outfit definitely felt more “me”, and I didn’t mind the black and navy together at all. All I did was go to work and then go home, and I was feeling bloated so I appreciated the stretchy jeans.
