As I write this, I'm listening to Kacey Musgraves' new record, Golden Hour. My boyfriend got a turntable a couple of years ago, and it's been fun adding to our record collection. I did some major damage during Record Store Day this year, as you can imagine. ;) He surprised me with Golden Hour today—it's one of my new favorites!

Isn't it interesting how music can take you back to a time or place? There are some albums that so clearly remind me of specific times in my life. For example, Riot! by Paramore was my summer 2007 album. It was the summer before my senior year of high school. I volunteered at my local National Weather Service office to get a taste of being a weather forecaster (because that's what I used to want to do until I realized I'm bad at forecasting, haha). I drove my parents' green Ford Mustang convertible and felt like the coolest cat around. I know that in the future, whenever I hear Golden Hour, I'll remember spring 2018. It might not be as vividly as Riot! brings me back to 2007, but it'll still give me nostalgia for this time in my life.

Even though my old clothing doesn't give me quite the same nostalgia as music does, it's interesting to look back through old outfits from my early blogging days and remind myself of the outfits I was putting together at certain times in my life. It's funny how outfits seem so fashionable at the time you wear them and how quickly the trends change and make those old outfits look dated. I'm sure I'll look back at this outfit in a few years and cringe at my loose-on-loose silhouette and trendy slide sandals. (Side note: I'm a huge fan of the loose tee paired with the loose pants here. Gimme all the comfort for a long work day!) That's the fun of fashion, though—playing with a mix of classic and trendy pieces! I'm sure this red striped tee will be a mainstay in my closet for years. I'm not as certain about the pants and the shoes, but only time will tell. For now, they're fun to wear and enjoy. :)
