Shades of autumn

Green flannel shirt outfit with tan hat, black pants, black ankle boots — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

The fall colors have peaked in these parts over the past couple of weeks. While I love all of the vibrant colors and the sound of leaves crunching under my feet, I'm sad that winter will soon be upon us. Can't we hold onto the pretty scenery for a little while longer? It always bums me out to see the bare tree limbs (not to mention, it makes taking outfit photos outside a little more depressing). How's the fall color where you are? Over or still on the up-and-up?

After I picked up this flannel shirt in the Nordstrom sale this past July, I couldn't wait for the opportunity to wear it! I took it with me to Canada since the weather called for some cozy layers and have pulled it out a couple of times since then. I thought it paired perfectly with this rust-colored floppy hat I also picked up in the Nordstrom sale (as seen in this Instagram). Even though they don't match, they still go together. I'm trying to not be so matchy-matchy with every outfit. ;) The all-black pants and boots were the perfect neutrals to keep the focus on the upper half.
