Dressing up the basics

I first wore this outfit to a meeting with other scientists working under the same grant as me. (We periodically gather to discuss recent research projects and how we want to move forward.) Since I was with colleagues--and mostly Earth scientists at that--I didn't want to dress up too much, but I also didn't want to look totally casual. My solution was to wear a basic t-shirt and dark wash jeans and dress them up a bit with wedges and statement earrings. I loved this outfit so much that I recently repeated it on a day with more mild weather. Can't go wrong with an outfit worth repeating! ;)

Speaking of the weather, the monsoon has finally decided to make an appearance here. I live for monsoonal thunderstorms. It's so nice to have some interesting weather here! My rain boots will definitely be getting a good workout this week.
