My Top 10 Beauty Products

Honestly, I don't really put a whole lot of effort into how my face and hair look every day. (It's probably really obvious, haha!) I care, but I don't care enough to sacrifice sleep for looking my best. Perhaps there will be a day when I wake up and want to make more of an effort (kind of like what happened when I realized I wanted to put more effort into my outfits), but for now, I'm content using a handful of beauty products to make me feel confident when I leave the house and to take care of myself after a long day. Here are my current ten beauty favorites!

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 / This is all I use on my face. I find that it evens out my complexion relatively well and it doesn't make me oily throughout the day. All I need is a quick, light application in the morning. I first purchased this in "fair", which matches my skin in the winter. However, in the summer, my skin tans a bit so I recently purchased it in "fair/light"--it's perfect!

Buxom Lash Mascara / When my eye issues started, I originally thought my eyes were irritated by my old, flaky CoverGirl mascara which I should have thrown out months ago (turns out they're just dry!). I was determined to find a mascara that didn't flake, and this seemed promising based on reviews. I have to say that it really is fantastic; it goes on my lashes smoothly and with no clumping or flaking. The only downside is that it's not supposed to be waterproof, yet I cannot get it off just with face wash and water. Ah well. I would still buy this again.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel / I first tried the Sonia Kashuk brow gel from Target, and it worked alright. The problem I had with it was that a tube didn't last long at all and it left white flakes in my eyebrows which is not really the look I'm going for. I was looking to upgrade, and this was the perfect choice. It is easy to apply, holds EXTREMELY well, and doesn't flake. Even though it can't contain my really crazy hairs (sometimes a couple are untamable), I love this product and definitely plan to purchase again.

Verb Ghost Oil / Every participant received this at Texas Style Council CAMP (here's my recap!), and I just got around to trying it out. My hair tends to be on the duller side, which is definitely not my favorite look, but this makes my hair look so nice! I just need to remember to put it in more often.

Perfume / I have quite a variety of perfumes (and have vowed to not buy a new one until I finish one of these...side note: what can I do with the bottle when it's empty? They seem too pretty to recycle...). I love feeling like I smell pretty. I don't really have a method to which one I pick, but I do try and alternate. {Clockwise from top: Taylor by Taylor Swift, Still by Jennifer Lopez, Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift, Wonderstruck Enchanted by Taylor Swift, Jennifer AnistonPrincess by Vera WangDaisy by Marc Jacobs, Taylor by Taylor Swift Made of Starlight Edition}

Vaseline Lip Therapy / I LOVE these little guys! They are the perfect size to throw in bags, and I also keep one at my desk at school and one in the bathroom to use before bed. (I also have the cocoa butter and regular versions, but I love the smell of rosy lips and how it leaves a slight pink tint on my lips.) Vaseline is super moisturizing, so this is definitely a necessity in my dry climate.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes / I first started using these when I bought the travel packs to take on vacation to avoid the whole liquids situation with regular face wash. They ended up being amazing at taking off waterproof mascara (I had waterproof CoverGirl mascara that I bought by accident) as well as my new mascara which isn't supposed to be waterproof but is. I usually just use one of these at night, but sometimes I finish with a regular face wash if I had extra makeup on or if I decide to do a second wash in the shower.

Epionce Renewal Facial Lotion / I started using this after I shower because my face feels really dry and tight. One pump (a pea-sized amount) is all I need to moisturize my entire face. It's super lightweight and perfect for combating dryness! (Note: This product is really expensive. My mom is an esthetician and is able to provide me with this product, and for that I am really grateful!)

Johnson's Baby Oil / You are probably wondering why I included this. Well, have you ever slathered your legs with baby oil post-shower? If not, you're totally missing out. It's especially heavenly on freshly shaven legs, but I swear it also makes new growth soft and not as noticeable. Rub it on after shutting off the water but before toweling off, while your legs are damp.

Zoya Nail Polish / I have a number of nail polishes since I like to keep my nails painted to prevent myself from biting them. (I also tend to keep a color on my toes, because who doesn't, really?) I purchased my first three colors from one of Zoya's promotions where you buy three and only pay for shipping ($15, which ends up being $5 per polish). I've had great success with it so far and would recommend it, especially if you take advantage of a promotion! I am impatient when it comes to dry time and this doesn't take as long as other high-end polishes unless you really lay it on (Sally Hansen Hard as Nails is my favorite as far as dry time goes while still having good coverage). I'm always open to product suggestions if you have any! In particular, I'm interested in trying an eyeliner that is extremely easy to apply (and remove--at least with the face wipes), a lip color that looks amazing and stays on without being impossible to remove (and perhaps tips for achieving that?), and also a concealer for under eye circles.
