Faux leggings

Blue striped button-down shirt, black J.Crew Pixie pants, Madewell Billie boots, vintage Coach City bag -- Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

In this case, I mean pants. I absolutely adore my pair of J.Crew Pixie pants because not only are they amazingly versatile (and so comfortable), they are pants and not leggings. They may look a bit like leggings, but they are thicker and have more structure. Thus, I feel comfortable wearing them with regular-sized shirts and sweaters. I highly, highly recommend these pants if you are in the market. I wear mine all of the time in the fall, winter, and spring! I'm considering buying a second pair in navy. For reference, I took my regular pants size but got them in "short" so they are ankle-length. I find that I can get many wears out of them (around ten) between washes because they don't stretch out that much. Even though J.Crew says to dry clean them, I machine wash on delicate/hang dry and they are fine. I did dry clean them this summer after wearing them last winter and spring, but washing in between dry cleans seems to not have a negative effect!

I couldn't resist pairing my Pixie pants with the striped shirt I picked up this summer for a more fall-like look. I also love wearing my pants with cognac; I think the contrast between black and cognac is so rich and perfect for this time of year! As a bonus, no jacket was necessary on this balmy 68-degree day. :)
