Black Friday haul

I can't handle the crazy Black Friday crowds, so I tend to do my Black Friday shopping online, if at all. This year, my boyfriend and I did go out in the morning (not before 10, though) and brave the crowds to score a few deals. I also did a little online splurging (I have a hard time saying no to 50%+ off sales). Here's what I got!

Old Navy

We only went to Old Navy because my boyfriend wanted sweatpants. Everything in the store was 50% off on Friday, and that was very hard to ignore! I walked in and immediately saw this huge knit scarf that I couldn't say no to. And then I wandered around and found two other things to supplement my wardrobe--a plain black long-sleeved t-shirt and a new plaid shirt.

J.Crew Factory

I've been visiting J.Crew Factory's website a lot lately. It's one of my favorite stores to hit up at the outlets because they always have some super awesome deal going on! They went all-out for Black Friday (and the days surrounding BF) and did 50% off everything online. (Though, this past weekend, their sale would have made my order cheaper than the BF sale. I'm trying not to be bitter about it.) It took me a couple of days to decide what I wanted and mull over which sizes to get since I've found that their sizing isn't super consistent from piece to piece. I ended up with a skirt that I had eyed in the store, the velvet vine t-shirt that I've been lusting since seeing on a mannequin in the store, a plain white v-neck t-shirt, and a basic black shirt. My basics have been lacking lately. I was disappointed in the white shirt--why are shirts SO see-through these days?! The vine shirt felt a bit too tight even though I got measurements for it to make sure. I'll probably end up returning those two and keeping the skirt and black shirt. The skirt is my favorite purchase!

ModCloth

It's no secret that my online obsession is ModCloth. I'm always looking at new arrivals and adding things to my "love list". They had a Black Friday sale starting on the Wednesday before and lasting through the weekend. A bunch of new arrivals and a few older goodies were 50% off. Now that is a deal for ModCloth. Unfortunately, not very many things on my love list were on sale. I did find a couple of new things that I loved but everything went very fast, as you can imagine.

I was somewhat pleased with my order. I grabbed four things at 50% off and one full-price item to round it out since I had a coupon for an extra 20% off everything. I got a tulle skirt, deer print leggings, heart print dress, burgundy scarf, and knit sweater. I'm super excited for the skirt, though I have no idea how to style it for the winter. I was underwhelmed by the leggings and dress. The scarf is awesome, and I love the sweater, though it's already snagged in a few places on one sleeve and I've worn it once (post coming soon!). That really bums me out.

Nordstrom Rack

Additionally, I grabbed a few winter essentials at Nordstrom Rack--plushy leggings/tights, more regular tights, and a couple of pairs of soft socks. I can't have enough of those! I definitely need more of the warm leggings. They were giving out $15 gift cards if you spent $100, but I wasn't about to spend that much just to have to spend more later, though I probably would use it.

All in all, it was a decently good Black Friday. There were some pretty good deals and others that seemed good but actually weren't that great (coughJCrewcough). Did you score any goodies on Black Friday? :)
