Outfit Re-creation: Kendi Everyday

It's time for a new outfit re-creation! I'm constantly inspired by the bloggers I follow, and every once in a while someone wears an outfit that I never would have thought to put together myself and that I must replicate with things in my closet. Kendi of Kendi Everyday wore this particular outfit over a year ago. I loved it so much that I made a mental note to recreate it someday. (At the time, I didn't own a white button down, burgundy pants, or a black crossbody bag, and I only had a mint cardigan.) I saved the look to Pinterest and featured it in my first Outfit Obsessions post, knowing that someday I would have all of the items and could put it together. You'd be hard-pressed to meet a fashion/style blogger who doesn't know of Kendi! She is a very well-known blogger who started years ago and popularized the 30x30 remix challenges. She mostly features her everyday, attainable personal style. Even though she has started dressing in more higher-end brands (likely due to her success!), I still find myself inspired by the looks she puts together. Nothing feels out of reach, and that is so important to me and why I follow the bloggers I do.

What is not to love about this look?! Here's my version! :)

There's just something I love about mint and burgundy together. Plus, here's proof that burgundy isn't just for the fall/winter! Mint totally "springifies" it, I think.

Outfit Re-creation: Zipped

It's been a hot minute since my last outfit re-creation! Today, I'm wearing one of my favorite looks by one of my favorite bloggers, Chelsea of Zipped. I'm pretty much obsessed with her neutral, sporty, feminine-meets-masculine looks. I didn't find her blog until earlier this year, and this is an outfit she wore last November. I actually found it on Pinterest! (You may remember it from my latest Outfit Obsessions post!) I immediately knew I had to recreate it for myself. I loved the layering of the chambray with the long grey cardigan and olive green jacket. So good. (Click on the photo below to go directly to the post. I hope you also check out her other posts while you're there!)

Here's my version!

I wish my cardigan was just a couple of inches shorter, but all in all, I'm such a fan of this outfit. I wore it for the first time at the end of October and knew it would be one to repeat. Chelsea is actually who inspired me to purchase the J.Crew Pixie pants. She's had hers for a couple of years now at least, and I love all the looks she creates with them; they're a perfect base to pretty much any outfit. If I could wear them every day, I totally would. They're seriously amazing pants!

Outfit Re-creation: Crystalin Marie

Today's outfit re-creation was inspired by a look worn by Crystalin Marie a couple of months ago. I've only been reading her blog for a few months, but her style totally resonates with me. It's classic, simple, and a little bit masculine. You'll find her in either stripes, denim, or a combination of both--and always put together! This look is one I've been wanting to try myself, but with the summer heat, wearing layers (especially a long-sleeved layer) was the last thing I wanted to do. We had quite the dip in temperatures recently, so I took that as an opportunity to put together this look! I'm a huge fan of the light monochrome (or any monochrome, really, haha). Now if only I had a pair of white jeans to wear--after Labor Day, of course. ;)

(Click on the photo below to go directly to the post; while you're there, please peruse her other posts!)

I was super stoked to recreate this outfit since I had most of the pieces already (except for a cognac bag, which she also features in the post, and a pair of espadrilles). I was trying to decide between wearing my gold sparkly Sperry Top-Siders (for the slip-on, relaxed vibe) or my new leopard d'Orsay flats (for the print), and with help from Chris, I decided to go with the leopard flats. Even with my flats instead of the Sperrys, this outfit still feels relaxed and perfect for a day of running errands! How do you think I did?

Chris and I goofed off a bit during this outfit shoot. He kind of gets into the photos a bit sometimes (I think, haha), so if he likes something he'll tell me to do it again or hold it or whatever. I flipped my hair because it kept getting in my face, and he told me to do it again so he could snap a bunch more. I figured I'd include one of the shots for fun. :D
