Layers: the name of the game now that it’s officially meteorological winter (and boy did winter show up in a big way this past weekend). I’m not really sure what to do since I still want to wear and shoot two more outfits for fall, and now we have snow and freezing temperatures. HA. I hate how short fall feels. But, I will allow the snow to stick around until Christmas day…after that I hope it melts. ;)
Anyway, do any of you go to West Elm for their free Holiday Card Photo Shoot? We went last year for the first time—mostly because pets are allowed, so we brought our cats along! They love it. (Not.) But I couldn’t resist going back this year. I put a lot of thought into our outfits so we all coordinate; last year, my cats had mismatched harnesses, so our outfits were a bit mismatched but still coordinating. This year, I got new grey harnesses with black trim for the girls, so I channeled the same look with my outfit: grey wrap cardigan layered over a thin black sweater with the sleeves cuffed once to show the sweater underneath. Korri wore a thin hooded top with light grey stripes.
We haven’t gotten the photos back, but I hope the photographer got some good ones! I always feel like a hot mess while taking the photos since I have no idea how my outfit/hair/face looks while I’m trying to make sure my cats are looking in the direction of the camera. Haha! Our local store shared a photo of us from last year’s shoot on their Instagram. The cats were busy staring at the dogs standing outside the door. We didn’t see any dogs when we were there this year, so they didn’t really “perk up” and kind of looked lifeless while laying on our legs. I’m so eager to see the photos! Fingers crossed she got some good ones. ;) I plan to print out my favorite photo to send/give to family like I did last year!
