I was searching my blog to make sure I didn’t already use this post title, and I realized a couple of funny things: 1) when I write about this black cashmere sweater, I always mention how voluminous it is (see exhibits A, B, C) and 2) apparently I wrote in this post from two years ago that “I’m not really into voluminous pant legs and voluminous sleeves” (with regards to bohemian-style outfits). I guess I am, in fact, a fan of voluminous pant legs and voluminous sleeves…when done like they are done here. ;) Ha!
This look came together as I was deciding what to wear with my new “dark cabernet”-colored ankle boots from Madewell. They ended up being the only thing I kept from my birthday order at the end of September. I love how the different colors came together in this look, and to my surprise, I’m a huge fan of the swingy, loose sweater paired with the wide leg pants. Typically, I’d wear a more slim-fitting top to offset the wide leg silhouette, but I don’t mind this (voluminous!) sweater here. This look was cozy while sitting feeling more put-together for work. It even worked well for post-work drinks and eats at a local cider company (while listening to a science talk by my undergrad advisor!).
